Why I, a male, millennial, and person of color, am voting for Hillary Clinton

Really nice article today from Medium.com from a millennial laying out very excellent reasons to be with Hillary.

Over the course of the election season, the media has painted Hillary Clinton as a candidate who is out of touch with today’s millennials. In almost every debate or interview she gets asked a version of the question, “Why do you fail to connect with young voters?” These questions frustrate me because, while Bernie Sanders does have a passionate group of young supporters, Clinton also has a loyal group of young voters who would like to see her become president. I am writing this to offer my perspective of why I, a male, millennial, and person of color, am voting for Hillary Clinton.

First, Clinton’s resume is second to none. Before becoming First Lady and marrying President Bill Clinton, Clinton was an attorney at the Children’s Defense Fund and taught law at the University of Arkansas. As First Lady, Clinton led the charge to provide universal health care for all Americans. Although it failed, Clinton’s ideas and efforts laid much of the groundwork for today’s Affordable Care Act. As Senator of New York, she helped secure over $21 billion in funding for the redevelopment of the World Trade Centers and helped push equal pay legislation through the Paycheck Fairness Act and originally co-sponsoring the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Furthermore, as Secretary of State, Clinton negotiated a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel and oversaw freed trade agreements with US allies such as South Korea. I could go on and on.

He is also dead on. Hillary has a long history of standing up for women, children, and fairness. Also contrary to the constant unjust claims of warmonger, it is forgotten what an advocate for peace she has been around the world. She presided over the diplomatic relations of over 112 countries while secretary of state.

Her haters are going to hate. But they haven't taken her down yet, and they've been after her a helluva long time!

Go, Hillary!

Clinton's voting record would state that she is for:

Destroying the environment via fracking, the reprehensible shit Monsanto has done, H1b visas denying trained Americans STEM jobs, outsourcing jobs to the third world to deny even MORE Americans jobs, a minimum wage keeping a middle-class from regrowing, keeping people trapped in a cycle of poverty, the destruction of Syria and subsequent blossoming of ISIS under her watch as SecState, bailing out and then accepting money from the same corporate overlords that fucked the American people in the first place, support for using cluster-bombs in residential areas, funneling money to companies like L'Oreal who use child labor for mining, her friendships with Kissinger, Podesta and the like, her support of the failed war on drugs-- I could go on and on.

She was on WalMarts BoD when they started outsourcing manufacturing to China and busting unions...has never clarified her role in that. She supported NAFTA, which killed millions of Americans jobs. She supports Privitized Prisons, and three strikes and marijuana laws needed to fill them. She supported the Welfare Reform Act which pulled the safety net out from under millions of low income Women and children.
In addition, she stirred up a coup in Honduras, causing families to send there children to the U.S. for safety. Clinton sent them back, saying they needed to be taught a lesson...many died or were raped when caught up in the fighting and violence.
Yes, when it comes to family values, Clinton has firmly supported Wall Street.

Wait till you see how that's going to work out for you.

You can't end mass incarceration by voting it into power.

She has also done not-so-good things.

Bernie has done good things.

His list of not-so-good things is smaller.

It's sad that a person can't even state which Democrat they support - posting a positive article that doesn't demean anybody - without being attacked viciously and personally.

That's really sad.

Been lurking for a while. I am a Hillary supporter but will vote for Bernie if he's the nominee but the vile hatred for Hillary has reached new height. You can peruse thread title each day and if you're a Hill supporter you'll be disgusted as I am, hit piece after hit piece...but I get sucked into opening a positive thread once in while.....
