With superdelegates, Clinton has a much bigger lead in the overall delegate race.
Clinton: 503
Sanders: 70

(6,400 posts)Particularly since people still don't understand superdelegates and don't need to be surprised later in the year when they become a greater focus.

(5,191 posts)Using super delegates is such a good way to reach out to young voters! The future is bright in the Democratic Party. If you can't win on your own; cheat!

The spin is ridiculous around here.
Work for your candidate, stop making baseless accusations of cheating when the system is operating as it has for years and Sanders signed up for.
If you want to change the system go for it... Here are the changes I would make:
- No Caucuses
- Strip Iowa and NH of their first in nation status, move to regional primaries
- Make states winner take all

(28,749 posts)How many times do I need to say that?
They should be gone, today!
How does disenfranchising hundreds possibly thousands of people who can't make it to "vote". The whole caucus system is sham, unfortunately it seems both our candidates support that system at this time.

(15,859 posts)And I cant believe how damn many there are. Why in the world would a state chose a caucus instead of a primary?? Makes no damn sense to me.

Bernie Sanders campaign is getting nailed for some unethical shenanigans
... the Sanders campaign was accused of impersonating union workers to gain access to the dining rooms of the powerful Culinary Union, in order to talk to its members.
The campaign denied staffers were impersonating union members, but acknowledged they were wearing the Culinary Union button in solidarity with people.
The tiff has since been resolved, but a union representative said earlier this week they were disappointed and offended and that it was completely inappropriate for any campaign to attempt to mislead Culinary Union members, especially at their place of work.

(70,275 posts)Sanders Spent Nearly Twice as Much as Clinton on TV Ads as Nevada Vote Approaches
http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-02-17/sanders-spent-nearly-twice-as-much-as-clinton-on-tv-ads-as-nevada-vote-approaches
The Democratic candidates have spent a combined $50 million on TV ads since the beginning of the campaign.

Bernie Sanders poured about $2.9 million into broadcast ads last week, nearly twice as much as Hillary Clinton, his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, spreading his message to crucial Super Tuesday states.
Since winning the New Hampshire Democratic primary on Feb. 9, Sanders has boosted his spending on television by about 70 percent, according to an estimate through Feb. 15 by Kantar Media's CMAG, which tracks political ads on broadcast television and national cable. Clinton spent $1.6 million during the same period, a 45 percent increase from the week before.
In Nevada and South Carolina, the next two tests in the nomination fight, Sanders and Clinton have spent roughly the same amount. Sanders' move to deploy resources beyond those votes illustrates the momentum his campaign has gained and the fundraising he has commanded along with it. The Sanders campaign announced he raised $5.2 million in the 18 hours after the New Hampshire polls closed.
QuickTake U.S. Campaign Finance
Sanders outspent Clinton by more than two to one in Denver, Minneapolis, Tulsa and Oklahoma City, according to an analysis by Ken Goldstein, a University of San Francisco professor and Bloomberg Politics analyst. While CMAG's estimate is limited to broadcast and national cable, Goldstein's analysis also includes local cable and satellite spending. Colorado and Minnesota hold caucuses on March 1 while Oklahoma holds a primary.
