Roll Call:Two of the spots feature women who identify themselves as personally against abortion. One of them, identified as Diana, also identifies herself as a Republican.
In the hospital, I was offered emergency contraception. Because of my personal beliefs, I declined. Heres what else I believe: No woman should be denied that choice, she said. Ive never voted for Claire McCaskill, but because of Todd Akin, I will now.

(190 posts)Anyone catch Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA)? He believes that certain areas of science, including evolution and embryology, are "lies from the pit of hell", placed on this earth by Satan to convince us we don't need a savior. And that the earth is 9000 years old, and all evidence to the contrary can be explained by the same aforementioned rationale.
Paul Broun, like Todd "From What Doctors Have Told Me" Akin, sits on the House Committee of Science and Technology. Their justification for this is that "both sides of the debate need to be represented".

(63,912 posts)I may not agree with her less progressive views but this is EXACTLY the way to deal with the Todd Akin's of this world: hit them hard and right in the gut.
These women are rightfully angry. And they are very brave to step forward publicly. It had to be difficult, after what they had gone through. But look at the courage shining through in these spots! My god, it made my day!
