Hopefully this number will rise over the next week since it's obviously lower than we'd like it, but this is the kind of number we were seeing in WI when Ryan first got picked, and that didn't last.

1. Keep in mind

Ras only had him +3 in WI three weeks ago. So basically no change.

And they had a seven-point gap three weeks ago.

But this fits the "big bounce for a couple days that then subsided) meme. PPP was done on those two thought-to-be-worst days and Ras was doen entirely yesterday. If you include a presumed couple-point bias in one direction for PPP and a couple point bias the other way for Ras... this could be a big improvement.

5. Odd considering

Eight percent (8%) of Republicans and unaffiliated voters currently are undecided or plan to vote for some other candidate. Only two percent (2%) of Democrats are uncommitted to one of the major party candidates.

Ask Romney about this poll and he'll tell you it's a tie since it's within the margin of error. Bet he wasn't saying that about the polls he was leading in.
