Narrow leads, but it's better to be up then down at this point.

(5,008 posts)I hope every single person that votes for him suffers under a President Romney. It is a shame that others will have to suffer right along with the idiots that vote for Romney. President Obama saved their jobs. And Mitt Romney said to let the industry die. There have been tons of ads in Ohio. Even the most low information voter knows what Romney said. They know what he said about the 47%. Also, that House of Representatives lady from Ohio that said YESTERDAY that Obama was going to win BIG should not be allowed to go on tv again. She said oh you can just feel it on the ground. Obama is not just going to win but he is going to win big. OKAY...

(5,008 posts)The president saved their jobs and they are not even thankful for that! I just don't understand it! I mean up 3% in Michigan too?? It seems like the people that he tries to help are the ones that turn on him the most. Look at how he tries to help the military and veterans. They still turn around and bash him. He just can't win with some groups. Fed up!.

Nevada:

Wow, Obama led by 2 points in the last survey.
I don't see a trend for this survey in Ohio.

(26,749 posts)If you ignore Gravis' poll, we were up 4/8/8/9/10 points in the two weeks prior to the debate (and another 8&10 the week before that). Now there's one poll showing a four point lead and four polls showing a dead heat (two up one and two down one).

(116,464 posts)Clearly, I was comparing the current poll to the last one by the same pollster.
Still, if you want to include other polls:
CNN Ohio poll: Obama 51, Romney 47 LV; Obama 53, Romney 43 RV

(26,749 posts)What was the last SurveyUSA poll in Ohio?
The previous NBC poll had us up 8 points... but that wasn't done by SUSA (though I'm told that they did this one for a local NBC affiliate).

(1,016 posts)That's how Reid was able to win Nevada. Strong union and Hispanic support.

(4,551 posts)There will be a lot of nervousness until the Ohio numbers go back up.
I assume Bill Clinton will go to Ohio soon to help out.

(33,497 posts)Even with Romney's bounce, Ohio appears to be withstanding it.
FBaggins
(26,749 posts)The best news is that of the five OH polls released since the debate, none show a clear Romney lead - and they were taken primarily (or even exclusively) at what we hope was the peak of Romney's "bounce".
TroyD
(4,551 posts)I think we might be "saved".
But it's going to be nerve-wracking for a few days.

(26,749 posts)The debate had a huge impact and, yes, many people want to stick their heads in the sand about it - but the tides will change several times between now and election day.
The real impact of the debate is that those tides will likely wash back and forth over much more dangerous territory than we thought they would a week or two ago.

(26,749 posts)You may be thinking of an ARG poll that had it 48-47?
WI_DEM
(33,497 posts)the station releases it first because they contracted to do it and then SUSA put it on their site at a latter time:

Not that it really matters. I find it funny though that this poll gets more attention than the CNN Ohio poll that has Obama up 51-47.
FBaggins
(26,749 posts)I hadn't seen that one and RCP had it as a release this morning.

I don't see it getting "more attention". But I do find it funny that there are five recent polls out and we naturally want to only look at the ones that tell us what we want to hear.

(4,551 posts)Seems to be the only Ohio poll showing a lead for Romney so far.
And it has a history as a right-wing pollster anyway, does it now?
FBaggins
(26,749 posts)At least, that's been my perception.
OTOH, I used to feel the same way about SurveyUSA... but Nate Siver tells me that they have one of the larger house effects (D+2.4).
TroyD
(4,551 posts)That seems a little low to me compared to the way he has been polling with other pollsters.
Unless he took a hit when Obama's Ohio numbers went down?
