Every Night on MSNBC I Record.....

Martin Bashir at 4 PM Hardball at 5, Ed Schultz, at 8 Rachel at 9, and at 10:00 my favorite, and the best of them all Lawrence O'Donnell's The Last Word.

I just added Martin Bashir to the list a few weeks ago because he is damn good and a staunch liberal who will cut a spewing spin doctor off mid-word if they try pulling their projection bullcrap or they start telling blatant talking point GOP lies. He's pretty good.

Chris Matthews really likes Obama, and hates Romney and the republican obstructionism-as do I.
Rachel is smart as a whip but now and then she'll wander off on a long tangents and start to lose me.
As for Ed well, I've always been a little suspicious of him and to hear him whining and going on and on about the debate a week later, gets to be a little much. Also, has anybody else noticed how all you see talking on his shows are republicans talking on tape? It's subtle and tricky but I can see why I am still suspicious of him.

The best as far as I'm concerned though is Lawrence O'Donnell, he always puts things into the proper perspective for me, calling out the bullshit, and not taking it all too seriously while being VERY smart and concerned.
The one show I didn't even mention is Al Sharpton's; he's still really hard for me to watch, he still stumbles like he's a fill-in host after a year or so on the job. The one thing about Sharpton though is he has a unique perspective after having "been there" running for president. Last week he hit the nail on the head post debate when he called Romney's lies, what they are and said you can't win a debate on lies. It's the same thing that Randi Rhodes has been saying on her show.

What do you guys think, who do you like and dislike?

Will he win overall? I don't think so, but for now the lies and being a bully worked for him.

I don't distrust Ed and the rest at all, just not into the entertainment side. I get irked listening to bloviating from our side or the other guys.

Rachel cuts to it. Your description is on point.

....but I had to tune him out a little last week when he was outraged over the debate performance. But I mostly I love his show!

Laurence O'Donnell is another favorite of mine! Not only does he have the political experience but he also wrote a political show (The West Wing) & that's important when it comes to politics.

I like Rachel too! She can be long winded sometimes in her intros but sometimes it's necessary to know all of that stuff before you try to have an intelligent conversation!

I also like Martin Bashir. I began to like him when his show was on an hour earlier. And he does make some good observations...

I hadn't noticed that about Ed's show....

But i do find if i am in the mood for an in-depth look into how something works i tune into Rachel for that day.

- I am not a fan of Ed...he comes off as a bit of a blue collar worker which i am sure that is what he is going for but i dont get it.

- Sharpton -- god...for me i wish they kept Cenk Uygur instead which i am sure most on DU are glad Sharpton replaced him. I cant stand the congested nassel speak of Sharpton. And the way he says it is too slow and not new or interesting. He did a brilliant job though on the Trayvon Martin thing though.

- Bashir -- i caught him by accident one day (didnt realize MSNBC showed anything pre-Mathews @ 4 ... he seems descent. I like how he called out republicans. But i think i havent seen enough or the presentation of things isnt anything but daily rundowns so mehh.

- Mathews -- the dude sounds like he needs to spit out all that saliva buildup..give the man a spit bucket. The dude is a rollercoaster on who he likes one day or the next. I am no Obama fan but kissing the boots of repubs some times is annoying. He is back to good tweety right now though.

I guess that is all of them

Good guy and progressive.

he didn't seem as panicked as Chris M and Ed S last week, so I hope he's right.

especially when you DVR the programs you have the option of skipping past all the commercials and even some segments that are boring or that you've already heard covered on another program. Or for instance like yesterday's Ed show that I watched a few minutes of and then just deleted after hearing him whine incessantly about Obama's poor showing and how badly he lost the debate and how the sky is falling because the poll numbers are down not to mention having to endure 5 different clips of Mitt Romney explaining his ever changing stances on a variety of issues. That was enough for me so I just pressed the little red button that says delete on my remote...also, when you record the programs you don't HAVE to sit there and watch them all in a row as you do if you didn't...

So on a 1 hour show, you only view 2/3 of the hour, 40 minutes. It's still a lot of time, if you record many shows, and there's only so many hours of free time in a day.

is doing the watching. I happen to have a lot of free time to pursue a lot of other interests, like being a husband to my beautiful wife of 30 years, a son to my mom, a father to my 3 adult children, all who live near us, a grandfather to my 7 gifts from God, a musician, and a friend of those when needed.

If she said Ohio one more time I was going to shoot the tv.

I'm only going to record Chris. It's getting to be too much and they are going on and on about the littlest things. Four more weeks!

I vote in two weeks. I'll be glad when it's over and Obama wins and Romney rides off into the crazy house. He is nuts!
