2016 Postmortem

CNN's exit poll says that 66% is 45 and over. MSNBC's exit poll has a breakdown by age
45 and under:
76 Sanders (25%)
20 Clinton (6.8%)
45 and over:
33 Sanders (21.78%)
65 Clinton (42.9%)
Clinton 6.8 + 42.9=49.7
Sanders 25 + 21.78= 46.78
3.52% missing, but Hillary has a short way to go to 50% +1
Of course, this doesn't account for delegates.
I think the networks think there is a clear winner because they are saying "too early to call" rather than "too close to call."

(3,967 posts)are cnn and msnbc reporting from the same entrance polls? even if not, sounds promising for Hillary - although still close.

(17,064 posts)If 66% of caucus goers are 45 and under, and 76% of them favor Sanders, then .66 x .76 = 50% of ALL caucus goers right there.
