Former Dem official tells Bernie Sanders to go fuck himself

Former Dem official: 'Go f--- yourself, Bernie'
By Harper Neidig

A former deputy executive director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) on Friday lashed out at presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders in a post on Medium titled "Go f--- yourself, Bernie."

The post was in response to Sanders implying that rival Hillary Clinton was praising President Obama in order to "win support from the African American community where the President is enormously popular."

"It’s not just Black people that love Obama. The President is 'enormously popular' among all Democrats. Welcome to the Party," former DCCC official Brandon English wrote in his post.
"Do you have any idea how belittling it is to reduce Obama to the President that the Blacks like?"

World's Happiest Countries? Social Democracies
by
Craig Brown
A new report released by the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) shows that happiness levels are highest in northern European countries.

Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands rated at the top of the list, ranking first, second and third, respectively.

The US? As expected, the United States failed to make the top 10 but ranked among the highest for obesity and child poverty. Americans spend less than half the amount of time eating as the French, but have three times the obesity rate. “This tells us something about slow food, I think,” Simon Chappele, editor of the report said in an interview with NPR.

The report also showed the United States has the lowest mean age for women when they first gave birth, at 25.1 years old.

These Are The Happiest Countries In The World
06/05/2015

Denmark’s residents are the most satisfied with their lives, according to the Better Life Index released Monday. According to the study, published annually by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United States failed to crack the top 10 for the fifth consecutive year.

The Better Life Index rates the 34 OECD member nations, as well as Brazil and the Russian Federation, on 22 variables that contribute to overall well-being, including income, education, housing, health, and life satisfaction. 24/7 Wall St. reviewed the 10 countries with the highest life satisfaction score.

A healthy job market is one of the most important factors contributing to higher life evaluations. Employment rates — the percentage of the working-age population that is employed — were higher in each of the 10 countries with the highest life satisfaction score than the average employment rate for the countries reviewed.

Conversely, countries with relatively unhealthy job markets had lower life satisfaction scores. Unemployment rates were above 8.5% in seven of the 10 least happy countries, while they were lower than 7% in all but two of the happiest countries.

Healthy labor markets not only help promote job security, but also they can ...

The above are taken from this ongoing research by the UN.

Life Satisfaction

Background
Measuring feelings can be very subjective, but is nonetheless a useful complement to more objective data when comparing quality of life across countries. Subjective data can provide a personal evaluation of an individual’s health, education, income, personal fulfilment and social conditions. Surveys, in particular, are used to measure life satisfaction and happiness.

Life satisfaction
Life satisfaction measures how people evaluate their life as a whole rather than their current feelings. When asked to rate their general satisfaction with life on a scale from 0 to 10, people across the OECD gave it a 6.6 grade. Life satisfaction is not evenly shared across the OECD however. Some countries – Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Portugal and Turkey – have a relatively low level of overall life satisfaction, with average scores of less than 5.6. At the other end of the scale, scores reach 7.5 in Denmark, Iceland and Switzerland. There is almost no difference in life satisfaction levels between men and women across OECD countries. However, when looking at people’s education level, there is a clear difference: whereas people who have only completed primary education across OECD countries have a life satisfaction level of 5.9, this score reaches 7 for people with tertiary education....

Details by country...

But it doesn't take a lot to see that there was some bad blood between Clinton and Obama during the primary, that Hillary had lots of super delegates and, seeing that she wasn't going to get the nomination, was holding out for something. I'm pretty sure Obama didn't appreciate her off-the-cuff remarks about Gaddhafi's death, and starting a possible war with Iran. And almost as soon as Obama had been sworn in for his 2nd term, Hillary was out of the State Department.

What I find incredibly amusing about the Clinton surrogates is their ability to take any sentence - any idea - and stretch it out to mean something much more extreme and simple than it actually is. They truly are the kings and queens of simple sound bites to mislead people.

Trouble is - more and more people are seeing through this kind of politics. That Sanders is doing so well in spite of their bull is a testament to his popularity.

Bernie's not a shrinking violet. He would have "pulled a Trump" and called into news shows on a daily basis and other things to bring attention to himself.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This is offensive on so many levels. It implies that AAs are unable to know their own minds, but are just pawns to the people they actively support. Disgusting.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Feb 20, 2016, 12:03 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: pawns? Why not just say "slaves" - that's what seems to be implied. HIDE!
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Treated like pawns, not acting like pawns. Alert fail.

And if he denies this is true:

He's either a liar, or too stupid to serve responsibly on any Dem Party committee... much less DCCC.

Hey all - can't tell you weird it is to wake up on your vacation and see a bunch of people talking about the post you wrote. Figured I'd pop in to say hi and thanks for the feedback -- even the GFYs.

Also wanted to share a few clarifying points:

1. What's that line they use in the infomercials? The views expressed don't reflect the views of my former employer or anyone else but me. I'm not affiliated with any campaign. I'm just a guy on vacation with an opinion.

2. When I wrote the post I wasn't thinking about Hillary. I was thinking about Obama. I'm a fan. I understand if folks aren't as big a fan as I am. That's totally fine. My problem is when Obama is minimized to, as I said, the President that the Blacks like. Both because it's factually wrong -- the polls show Democrats overwhelming approve of Obama -- and because I'm defensive about Obama being painted into the corner of just the Black President for a bunch of historical and cultural reasons.

3. If Hillary said the same thing, I would've written the same post.

4. If Steve King said the same thing I'd be annoyed. But he's a Republican so I wouldn't be surprised. I expected better from Bernie.

President Obama having huge support from the black community and him having huge support from the entire party aren't mutually exclusive. Clinton suddenly choosing to go full on super fan just as the race heads into states with large black populations however was not exactly subtle.

But I don't think that's what Bernie was trying to imply. It is true that while plenty of us are still big supporters of the president, his highest approval ratings are with black voters, many of whom who are (rightfully) very proud to have him as president (as are many others, myself included). Clinton knows that, and she probably is praising him a lot in part because of it, although I do think she has come to genuinely respect him despite the contentious 2008 primaries. I don't think Bernie said or even implied that only blacks support Obama. I was and still am a huge Obama supporter and I was not offended by the comment.

Sun Feb 21, 2016, 05:11 PM
Feb 2016

As a 2008 Obama supporter, it felt very weird to me when I watched the last debate to see her wrapping herself around Obama in the same forums she used to attack him in. I don't doubt that her praise is genuine, as I believe she and Obama came to respect each other in the years since 2008. But I do think she is playing it up right now because South Carolina is coming up, and that's what Bernie called her out on. He never said or implied that Obama only has support from black voters.

... of FDR legislatively (amount not size and scope) and as popular as JFK on avg polling inside of DNC.

Why wouldn't she!?! it makes no sense NOT too!!!

Sanders statement inside reality doesn't make sense seeing the abnormal popularity of Obama inside dem circles.

Has Obama fucked up on some things?! HOPEFULLY!!! He's not a robot...

but

I don't think what he's done deserves Sanders scorn overall and this statement fits a narrative about Sanders that he just doesn't like Obama seeing he had a vile racilalzed surrogate in West associated with his campaign.

Will I bang on doors for Sanders?! Of course...

Will I do it with the expectation that Sanders will speak up when a person of color is murdered by a sKeered cop to sooth the souls of this type of legal oppression..

no...
