I honestly don't care what they did 40-50 years ago.

if you guys were judging me based on who I was and what I did in 1960 something you'd probably not be so impressed either. You would hope someone who's been around that long would grow and improve over time but EVERYONE evolves in some way.

In 1960 something I was just as full of narrow minded prejudiced backwards thinking as the rest of my social group. Thank the gods my parents saw fit to bring an exchange student from Hong Kong into our house and into our school. It made a big difference. Once I got out of that town and away from home my true open, accepting and inquisitive nature really blossomed.

I would expect that and much more from someone who's been bumping around in DC for awhile.

it is partly how the game is played

To me what Capehart tried to pull is insulting, not because of what Sanders did, but becuase of historical memory and preservation of it. It struck me a tad of 1984, or worst, an attempt at a stalinesque air brushing of history (which did happen.)

And to be honest, the 1990s is far more relevant to me, and that is for BOTH.

I can see slapping Capehart down along with his supporters.

I've gone back over countless missed thread on DU from the last few days and the infighting is ridiculous. Whether Bernie has any real creds based solely on what he did in 1960 something or whether Hillary is forever and always whatever she was in 1960 something is just pure silliness.

Really, I would just hope DU would be better than to bounce the ball around in the game portion of all this. I know primary season gets a bit silly around here......

and we are proud of that.

But I told him to his face to #retractcapehart. And today sent him the photo from the Trib that emerged today.

I wonder how long until he abandons that twitter account? It is painful at this point.

I am now married to a black man!

Back then I never saw beauty or handsome in a black person...it was how I was supposed to see the world...foreign was even worse....

In the late 50's, (I was about 8 or 9) in our neighborhood was a Japanese woman cutting grass with scissors, and (being just after the war in which both our fathers fought) we thought how bizarre are the 'Japs'

Can you imagine your wife cutting your grass with scissors to keep YOUR yard neat?

I did not think of that then.

If no one cares what the candidates were doing forty years ago then they wouldn't have bothered to try and Swiftboat Bernie over his past.
