I would rather rally behind REAL *progressive* agenda, and not such labeled as "progressive" as entities like the "Progressive Policy Institute" and the "Progressive Coalition for American Jobs" and other "creative" naming of non-progressive neo-liberal entities or agendas that want to work more for the 1% than the 99%. The 1% wouldn't be putting so much money in to this election if they greedily didn't think they could get back something for themselves from that bribery (a term that they also paid to define as being "legal" now).

38. Too bad Hillary is not a Progressive Giant. Or even a Progressive.

Her endorsements don't cancel out her stances on war and cluster bombs and fracking and increased H-1B visas and the TPP, for me. None of those things are Progressive, and it looks to me like her endorsements are politically expedient.

Interesting, the little hint that these people would not work with Bernie as president. Hopefully, I will be able to vote in a primary against some of the Florida DINOs, too!

51. Jay Nixon and Claire McCaskill are not progressive
Fri Feb 19, 2016, 06:56 PM

Jay Nixon has overseen more than 90% of MO executions as a prosecutor, AG, and governor. Clair McCaskill, former tough on crime prosecutor is not progress. Both cut their teeth in the corruption of the criminal justice system and are in office because they are bullies.

58. How many of your 'progressive giants' voted for DOMA and what does it say about those who claim
Fri Feb 19, 2016, 07:13 PM
Feb 2016

those who voted against the rights of others are persons to respect as progressives?
And McCaskill is virtually a Republican, she was even later than Hillary in supporting LGBT equality. Or may she was before Hillary but after everyone else in the entire Party.....hard to keep track of who stopped bashing when.

What does it say that I am shown those who voted against my rights and told that they are great progressives?

78. only reason she gets these is because people fear Bernie can't win GE, that is changing

Poll after poll after poll is showing he is stronger in a GE and that she loses most head to head comparisons, many will change sides just like they did in 2008

81. This is what makes me so confused on why she is running the way she is
Fri Feb 19, 2016, 10:47 PM
Feb 2016

All she really had to do is not make mistakes especially unforced mistakes.
She has the money, she has the resume, she has the endorsements, she has the super delegates, she has it all
Yet she runs in an almost Republican way where she (or her campaign) wants to destroy her opponent. Sadly she gets bad advice to lie and stretch and conflate. Thus giving her opponent major openings.

Having Chelsea go after Sanders on health care (attack the strength) was a monumental mistake. Putting Bill out there is begging for trouble. Did they forget last election?

What scares me is that she should still get the nomination just based on projections. Will she fuck up the fall campaign in such a way that she will make Republicans look sympathetic.

If she is the nominee I hope she gets her act together. Republicans will be smearing her in ways never before seen.

82. The Democratic Party isn't progressive...
Fri Feb 19, 2016, 11:00 PM
Feb 2016

It's a mildly conservative corporatist party in a 2 party system that is heavily bought and paid for over the decades. It is not a party that I can relate to or be proud of, all I can say about it is that it's better than the alternative. Sanders is only running as a Democrat because he realizes in a 2 party system running third party would split the vote, and he cares enough not to do that.

So the fact that the entire heavily corporate party is backing their heavily corporate candidate is exactly what I was expecting, and exactly why I think our political system has to change before any fundamental changes can happen.

Many Clinton supporters here seem thrive on their spite of having identified with a party that isn't progressive but that they want to pretend is. Most Clinton supporters outside of here are just moderate conservatives, like the Democratic Party itself.

The corporate Democratic Party won't be getting any more progressive on matters that hurt big business, but are more than willing to change shapes for issues that don't. Gay marriage is a good example, though they waited until the last minute only after the winds had shifted to change their policy on that, now it's just good business, not any sort of moral right. And when it was good business to throw gay people under the bus, they did, and when it was good business to throw minorities in jail they did, and if it ever becomes good business again, they will again.

But as for universal health care, or public college for everyone, or paid family leave, or immigration reform that doesn't allow for the continued exploitation of cheap labor, or marijuana reform, or prison reform, they will have to be dragged kicking and screaming as their lobbyists fight tooth and nail, and only when there is an option with more profit will they switch. It's not a party of principles. It's not a respectable party. The only thing it has going for it is the two party system and a monopoly on political power for those who dislike Republicans more.

Progressive leaders that have fought for progressive causes have been absorbed and subsumed into the party system. Some of them have utterly betrayed progressive values since, and receive millions each year from all manner of corporate lobbies as part of their strategy to stay elected. And while their individual actions may warrant respect, the actions of the party they work for look utterly horrible to someone that cares about progressive issues.

If someone is an extreme cynic that feels this party, as terrible as it is, has to be supported at all costs and no other change is possible, they don't have my respect. I can't respect a party that is fundamentally a sham because it is bought and paid for many times over and motivated far more by corporate influence than what people want.

Party politics sucks ass in the US, the two party system is a sham, and the label of party loyalist carries no virtue to me.

12/12/13 Dianne Feinstein Sen. (D-Calif.)

Is this list correct? Going back to December 2013. It looks as if Hillary Clinton has been running for president for 3+ years.
