Amy Goodman on Democracy Now. 20th Anniversary show.

She just played the clip off when Bill Clinton called in Nov. 8, 2000.

He didn't like the line of questioning on Iraq sanctions, and he admitted what a good thing it was to move the party to the right (his words). Cut crime, welfare rolls cut in half, free trade....

He kept scolding her for asking questions he didn't like, and generally not giving him the free pass he thought he deserved.

The next day, she got a call from the White House saying she was banned from any future functions there, because he had told her she only had a couple of minutes, and she kept him on the air longer than he wanted, defending his policies.

How dare she ruffle royal feathers. He was so arrogant and condescending.

There aren't many good media people left. Democracy Now is the last of the shows to get real news.
