Maria Teresa Kumar Confirms What Many Already Knew

Voto Latino President Maria Teresa Kumar appeared on Rachel Maddow tonight and confirmed what was obvious in Nevada and is likely true across this nation.

When speaking of the Culinary Union, she confirmed that there would not be an endorsement because the leadership could not get the membership to abandon their support for Bernie Sanders. The disconnect has led them to sit out the endorsement process. She added that typically "what Harry (Reid) says goes", but even he could not influence the union to make an endorsement.

So when Hillary claims ALL the Unions want her, she should add the disclaimer that the majority of unions who actually allow their members to have a voice do NOT support her. And in Nevada it could spell trouble because a large bloc that she thought would be hers will likely not be out caucusing for her Saturday.

If anyone has a clip or transcript, please post. I am simply reporting what I watched.

Have largely endorsed the progressive candidate who has the unions' best interest in mind. And I'm glad the Culinary folks agree.

And it sounds like the reason she thought she had such a "firewall" in place in the first place is strong-arming and calling in favors.

Does it smell like 2008 in here?

The Maria Teresa Kumar reference to the Culinary support begins at 2:00 of video

Maria Teresa Kumar, MSNBC contributor, and Victoria DeFrancesco, president of VotoLatino, talk with Rachel Maddow about how Latino voters are deciding which candidate they support for president and how a split between younger and older voters has created a tense dynamic within the Democratic Party.

After telling us the evils of free trade and outsourcing taking away our jobs and destroying our community tax bases..it really does insult the intelligence of their members when they flirt with Hillary. Since she is a free trade corporatist at heart.

The nevada democratic party is for hillary and will be conducting the primary just like in Iowa where I still think they are counting votes and flipping coins. As stalin or henry kissenger said "I don't care who votes I only care about who counts the votes."

It seems most of the Unions have this type of divide. Workers for Bernie, "representatives" and "leaders" are for Hillary.

I got this first hand from a friend and union member. He was never into politics until he learned of this. Now, he feels the bern.
