Romney's dangerous. Touts an "American Century". Clueless to the global changes we face.
Simplistic jingoism ought to be a thing of the past, yet Romney seems intent on reviving it in his bid to ride a shrinking Republican base to the Presidency. Blatant shill looks to be the last run for the Romney campaign.
If they want simplistic one liners, fine. I like this one - "bin Laden is dead, GE is alive." Take that one to your Swiss bank account Governor.
Back to the American cetera, though. The whole spiel displays a lack of understanding and an outmoded view of how the world works. What does the "American Century" really mean in real life, global terms? Are we to step in militarily in post Arab spring conflicts? Does Romney understand that they're not simplistic black and white situations? Does he get the local factionalism that plays in to it all? And the crippling unemployment that fuels public dissent?
I think not. Pull back the carnival tent and you'll find a shill. He's got a line for whatever whistle stop is on today's itinerary.
