Bernie's Magic Delegate Number: 2026 Pledged

2026 is half of all pledged delegates plus 1 (well 1/2 to be more accurate). 2026 is a majority.

There are a total of 4051 pledged delegates at stake. There are 712 unpledged super delegates, for a total of 4763.

To secure the nomination, the candidate needs 2382, or half the total.

However, if Bernie secures 2026 pledged delegates, he will have the majority of delegates for which the people, the voters decide.

If the supers go against the majority as decided by the voters, the Democratic Party will get slaughtered in the fall and lose for a generation.

In 2008, Obama did not secure half of the total delegates. He did secure over half of the pledged delegates and the superstars effectuated the people's vote to give him the nomination.

This is all acedemic at this point, it is a long way before this would even happen. But, if Bernie can get 2026 pledged delegates, he will have won.

If they were to go against the will of the states, how would any true democrat be able to stay with the party? I would not. It's beyond outlandish to even discuss them in a serious fashion.

Do you think they will obey the popular vote and will of the people?

These people play both sides. So they don't lose no matter who wins.

Thanks.
