Romney - angry under pressure

I sure would like to see President Obama confront Romney on live television so everyone can see how easily Romney the liar cracks under pressure.

Edited to add:

Watching this makes me really appreciate how difficult it was to have a debate with this guy under the "free for all" format of last week.

He would have talked over the President and complained over and over.

I have to believe Obama and his people knew this and did not want to be drawn into a "Rick Perry" style exchange with Romney.

The next debates will be much better for Obama.

from an encounter he had with a reporter. Mitt was doing a press conference where he said he was the only candidate whose campaign was not being run by lobbyists. So the reporter speaks up, "But, that's not true! Your chief adviser is a lobbyist!" -- Romney said something about, "well, he's not RUNNING my campaign. So and so is." The reporter pushed him on it, but Mitt, in perfect Mormon fashion, dodges completely based on the dishonest nuance of his words. The reporter replied, "By your definition, no one's campaign is being run by lobbyists!"

After the interview, but the cameras were still running, Mitt does the most bizarre thing. He walks off, but then he turns around and confronts the reporter with the clip you just saw. He then just walks away, and Mitt's handler comes in and tells the reporter to be more professional.

This actually also happened to Brett Bair over on Fox News, when Brett asked Romney about his comments in the past promoting RomneyCare on a national level. Mitt lied about it straight out, and Brett challenged him. After the interview, Brett claimed that as they were walking off, Mitt was chastising him about the interview. At one point he walked into his dressing room, WALKED BACK OUT, and continued the tirade.

This is the behavior of an extreme narcissist if you ask me. It is NOT normal behavior. It suggests something compulsive in the man. Something that is so... twisted, that it gets offended that you do not believe his lies.

I'm afraid, though, because there isn't really much you can do about something like that. This is a guy who will talk over you and repeat a lie over and over and over again. In fact, he did that during the debate, which is why I never understood why they claimed he won. Obama made many points which went unchallenged by Mitt, except by Mitt repeating himself. Mitt, however, can be much worse.

As I've been saying for a week Romney is going down in the next debate. Because now the groundwork is laid. Mitt Romney is clearly the greatest debater the world has ever seen and the expectations for Obama will be much lowered. Romney is an aggressor and has to stay aggressive. The president can now, ALSO be aggressive. The next debate is town hall style and Romney had BETTER NOT bring the same attitude that he brought to this debate. If so, and Romney mixes it up or ignores a citizen's question, expect the president to come to that citizen's defense. Romney has lied and staked out positions he will be required to defend. Also expect the president to stay far away from Romney lest Romney try to physically control him as he did Rick Perry--still the most frat-boy, dickish, blatantly aggressive move I have ever seen in a national debate.

Mitt's Record in Massachusetts is much worse than people realize. He failed Massachusetts citizens in jobs and the economy, in education, in women's issues, and in leadership style. Although I am a lifelong Massachusetts Democrat, I once made the mistake of voting for Mitt Romney (back "home" after saving the Olympics, and though I was hopeful, I almost immediately began to regret my vote--as did thousands of other Democrats who crossed party lines as well as independents and even some Republicans who realized how much he let our Commonwealth down. My video slideshow has received nearly 2000 views in just 5 days. The YouTube show is an indictment of Romney's term in office, and is an excellent counterpoint to all the boasting that he has done about all that he supposedly did for our state. The slideshow is set to music and features quite a number of lovely Massachusetts landscapes. If the President and his advisers were to watch this, they would get a good deal of info to use in the next debate. And yes, I now that bringing up these facts would frustrate--even anger--Mitt. The rest of you could use this info in YOUR next debate with friends.

it does seem as though there is a substantial percentage of folks who have some combination of entitlement and martyrdom issues, with perhaps some personal cowardice and/or anger-management challenges thrown in (and perhaps the occasional restraining order), who just fawn over the spectacle of others picking fights with whoever they have designated as the Other. They might have been eager to join the crowd around school-yard fights. Who supports cock- and dog-fighting? Bear-baiting?

It's a gristly and despicable side of more than a few of our species. Sadly, it's not as if angry Mitt would be out there alone.

Just sayin'
