polls are settling back down.

Dodged a .... ooops.

Obama needs to count his lucky stars.

I imagine there are cheers in his campaign tonight.

I KNOW he will do better next time.

And PS Picking on Big Bird - not a great strategy!! Seems to be the main point that resonated from Wednesday's forgettable debate!

6. For a debate to be a game changer, it would require the leading candidate make a spectacular gaffe.

Obama didn't. He wasn't as aggressive as he could have been or should have been, but he didn't make any obvious lies or spectacular gaffes.

He had (and maintains) leading margins which allowed him to be non-aggressive. Plus, he knew there would be 2 more debates. He didn't lose ground, he lost a couple of days of headlines which he could afford. I was disappointed in the performance, but now Obama knows what to expect from Mitt in a debate and had two more.
