2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDon't know how I got subscribed to Bernie's mailing list, but it's nice to hear his insults...
... to his primary opponent.
In this afternoon's email:
Heres the truth: The Clinton campaign would not be leaving the campaign trail unless they were finding it difficult to keep pace with our historic numbers of individual contributions. And they also wouldnt do it unless it was for a grotesque amount of money from a small number of super rich people. Probably at least $500,000.
In fact, this has been planned since before losing NH, and in 15 minutes she will be speaking at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture about breaking down barriers for African-Americans.
In contrast, I've never seen Hillary insult Bernie with false and misleading information in her mailers to me.

But yeah, her emails have included a request to donate to the children of Flint, a petition to let Obama's replacement for Scalia to get an up-or-down vote, etc.
No insults to her primary opponent.

(1,784 posts)a substantive difference on where Hillary gets her money support and where Bernie gets his ? I know you want these facts to melt away into the background.. but they are relevant and informative and trying to classify them as smears is futile.. The Political Revolution is rolling.. jump on board !

(8,311 posts)... between NH and NV/SC before the NH primary and the flood of donations to Bernie. He's a Democrat, not a Wall Street mogul. The fundraiser will be tonight.
Saying she was only doing it because she couldn't keep up is a lie, and saying she was abandoning the campaign trail as a result when she is also using her time in NY to talk about issues that matter is like suggesting that Bernie was "abandoning the campaign trail" too when he, quite rightly, went to Minneapolis.

(1,784 posts)who she gets her money from... I take it from your response you are not to proud of it... especially compared to the grassroots support for Bernie... average of $27bucks

(3,655 posts)is insulting to the Clintons. We can't have any of that around here. If Bernie takes them down, it will seriously cut into their earnings potential.

(19,926 posts)Yeah, she just wants to fool all the people by skewing her campaign contribution stats and make them think she is getting small donations from tons of people just like Bernie.
And, I don't see where he insulted her. Can you point that out please? Or maybe you missed them when you copied and pasted?
If you think what you posted is an insult then you must be HORRIFIED by the campaign Hillary is running with all the lies about Bernie's policy proposals and vile attempts at character assassination.
I see you are limiting your outrage to mailers after being called out on this. That doesn't change who is running the dirty campaign. We all know who it is.

(8,311 posts)... the edit should have been in tbe 1:46 -1:47 area, might have officially cleared at 1:48. But as soon as I hit submit I realized that wait, that was a possible misstatement, even though National Nurses United IS listed as a SuperPAC in OpenSecrets (even though I agree labor PACs shouldn't be counted the same). I was referring to direct campaign emails to her supporters.
Then saw the first reply, and replied that I had clarified.

You're fine with Hillary's dirty politics? Her smear campaigns? Her lies?
Her attempt at deceiving the voters by manipulation?

(1,235 posts)... the fact that she is not taking these corporate bribes (opps, donations) is a state of panic and has instead planned this bribery (opps, corporate fundraiser) for months now.
So which barriers will she be breaking down today again?

(8,311 posts)It might be totally unrelated to the official data breach, because it's been limited to email and not paper mailers/calls.
If any of us signed left-leaning petitions, one might have email addresses that were for public consumption. But if both sides started getting unanticipated mailers at the same time...

(3,937 posts)A few weeks into Ms. Clintons position as Secretary of State in 2009, she helped UBS settle a lawsuit with the IRS, saving them millions of dollars. Shortly after, her husband received $1.5 million in speaking fees from UBS, while donations from UBS to the Clinton Foundation increased exponentially.
Clinton advisors have also lobbied to repeal many reforms enacted by Dodd-Frank. Ms. Clintons campaign staff includes many former lobbyists, like her chief pollster and strategist Joel Benenson, who ran a consulting firm retained to lobby on repealing parts of Dodd-Franklegislation meant to regulate the financial industry in the post-2008 economic recession, by the Financial Services Forum. The brother of the Clinton Campaigns Chairman and lobbyist, Tony Podesta, told The Hill in a 2015 interview that he anticipated President Obamas ban on lobbyists would not be continued by a Clinton administration.
The enormous speaking fees and donations racked up by the Clintons from the financial services industry represent much more than the artful smear Ms. Clinton attempted to dismiss during the 5th Democratic Debate. Ms. Clintons record of getting paid substantially by large financial firms suggests her allegiance is aligned with their interests, rather than the American public. Nothing in her record or rebuttals suggests otherwise.

So Sanders isn't the only one to notice the connection. Laughing, deflecting and calling fouls is only going to get her so far. She will have to defend her income from this activity.

http://www.thewrap.com/what-to-expect-from-scooter-brauns-glitzy-2700-per-plate-hollywood-fundraiser-for-hillary-clinton/
This will be Clintons third trip to Hollywood since the launch of her second presidential bid in April. The former Secretary of State raised $3 million in a single day as she attended three separate events Beverly Hills in May.
There was another in San Antonio that was "small" 250+ women, $1,000/plate - she was in and out in about 90 minutes with a quarter mil.
And she's been trying to do these things without the media knowing. The way it seems to work is: set up a fundraiser for big bucks and then find something in the area to distract the media. She doesn't need to be in Harlem - she should be in a SC community. But she needs that Wall Street money to keep flowing in.
I could go on and on and on.

(10,007 posts)Hillary supporters don't seem to have a problem with her raking in dump-truck-loads of campaign cash from sketchy sources - in fact, they cite it as one of her advantages over Bernie - so why would it be insulting for the Sanders campaign to point out that fact?
