Hillary Clinton left the campaign trail today and is in New York City hosting a fundraiser with financial service executives where self-described “champions” give her campaign the maximum amount of money allowable under the law.

Here’s the truth: The Clinton campaign would not be leaving the campaign trail unless they were finding it difficult to keep pace with our historic numbers of individual contributions. And they also wouldn’t do it unless it was for a grotesque amount of money from a small number of super rich people. Probably at least $500,000.
