Speaker Fees: Hillary v. Nobel Laureates

http://inequality.org/speaker-fees-hillary-nobel-peace-laureates/

Hillary Clinton is under fire for accepting eye-popping speaking fees from Wall Street. For each of three speeches she made for Goldman Sachs, she received $225,000. It would take a full-time minimum wage worker nearly 15 years to make that much money.

Another way to put Clinton’s speaking fees into perspective is to take a look at how much some of the world’s most respected global visionaries and human rights champions garner for their speeches. Using sources like Washington Speakers Bureau and Speakerpedia, we found information on the fees commanded by eminent Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.

I know that bothers you, but that is why she gets such high speaking fees.

Did you know that when she speaks at colleges, those colleges can sell tickets and actually make money even though they are paying her a high speaking fee?

Billing rate at Rose Law Firm = value added as attorney.
Speaking rate in 2001 = Value added as former first lady.
Speaking rate in 2005 = Value added as Senator + former first lady.
Speaking rate in 2012 = Value added as "" plus likely Dem Presidential nominee.

I'm sure those astronomical payments have nothing to do with ensuring access to her influence and power. And I'm sure she doesn't feel the least bit of allegiance to helping them in return.

I call it cashing in on her public service. Sure, it's legal, many of them do it, but I see it as being greedy and sleazy. MOST public officials know that they have to wait until AFTER their final election to cash in on their service.

Hillary couldn't figure that out. Another example of her poor judgement.
