Anyone who thinks a self-declared socialist for massive government can win the GE is self-deluding.

Bernie IS saying some things that NEED to be said about income inequality, the need for serious political reform, etc. He says it strongly and with conviction.

But at the end of the day, he is a self-declared socialist advocating MASSIVE government expansion, and IT WOULD BE HIS DOOM in the general election.

Sanders supporters are hungry for much of this rhetoric so are responding to it. But it is one thing to say something, and very much another to actually transform that into doable policies let alone a WIN in the AMERICAN general election.

We are NOT a European socialist country. The R's will spend a BILLION dollars in ads tearing Sanders to shreds as a SOCIALIST COMMUNIST WHO WANTS TO TURN US INTO A EUROPEAN COUNTRY. It would be a political bloodbath.

Sanders has so far gotten off the hook with little real scrutiny and no real attack campaign against him. There is a reason why they are only attacking Hillary. They WANT to run against Bernie in a BIG way. He is a good man who simply can not win the general election, and I have so far not seen any Sanders supporter showing us how he can actually do it other than citing some MEANINGLESS polls so many months away from the general election.

Finally, I hear he has put in legislation to make Election Day a non-work day so more people can vote. OK Bernie folks, now is the time to test out the revolution. Show us how you are going to get that PASSED. Let's see it!

Actually not so big, just reapportion our government, so fraudulent Defense Contracts are
nullified and the Contractors are arrested for their crimes, while their assets seized, like
they do with "drug lords".

Then lift the cap on SS, enact into law the fees and taxes on Wall St. speculation
advocated by Sanders, insuring that the 1% pays their fair share.

Waa-Laa .. budget problem solved.

It's looking more and more like we, the peple, are going to nominate a socialist (ooga booga boooga). We'll be testing your hypothesis in Nov.

Some other random thoughts on your assertations.
1.The Republicans are also going to be calling Hillary a SOCIALIST and a COMMUNIST. They say that about every Democrat and have for 50 years.
2. It's going to be a 3-way race unless Bloomberg jumps in.

Mon Feb 15, 2016, 10:29 PM

I think he is trying to get back what we have lost in this country. He is trying to swing the power back to the people, like it is in The Constitution. "We The People" is where the power was always meant to be according to our founders (funny- that almost sounds like socialism). Somewhere along the way the power was usurped by corporations, crony capitalists, corrupt politicians and big banking interests. We lost the power of our political process. In Europe, the people through their political processes and governments, maintain power over corporations and the cronies. Their lives are better for it. Ironically, the idea of power to the people that works in Europe is an American one. Even if Bernie doesn't win, he needs to try.

There is a DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST running.
Get a grip already.
There are no Socialist countries in Europe. They are Democracies. They just spend more on social programs than their war machine.
This whole premise is so full of bovine fecal matter, it smells from a mile away.
All that needs to come out is the TRUTH!

I have personally spoken to many a Republican, more than a majority who have said that they would vote for Bernie. They tell me that though they may disagree with many of his proposals, he is honest, and has been consistently honest throughout his career. He has not just talked the talk, but he has walked the walk. They do not like ANY of the Republican candidates whatsoever, and they absolutely HATE Clinton. These are not my words, these are the words of my Republican acquaintances.

Socialism is now more popular than Capitalism. Bernie is a New Deal DEMOCRATIC Socialist, and even many of my Libertarian and Republican coworkers are backing him. His ideas are those of the Democratic party in the early 1970s, when the middle class and planet were far healthier. Let's face it; Hillary can NEVER win the general election. Repugs hate her with the heat of 10,000 suns, and she has given them plenty of ammo. Bernie Dems won't vote for her for the most part, and Independents favor Bernie 68 to her 32%. If you happen to win the battle (by stealing the nomination) you'll till lose the war. But since DINOs would seem to prefer Trump or Cruz to an actual liberal Progressive, maybe that's OK with you.
