Bernie Sanders is not MLK, Jr., Gandhi, Obama, or Mother Theresa. But he is right about a lot.

In fact, he basically been right about what's been wrong with this country for 45+ years.

That should count for something.

Is he right every time? No.

Does he sometimes sound like a broken record? Yes.

However, by and large while the Democratic Party has bobbed and weaved and careened ever so gently further and further to the right to the point where right wing talking points are "ok" on DU (i.e. No new taxes!!!) he has been steadfast for progressive and liberal values.

I think the only real things I've read or seen where Sanders has wavered is that he has D- rating from the NRA instead of an F and he supported an expensive weapons program as a kickback to his state.

Neither thing do I approve of.

However, considering the myriad right wing and sleazy politics as usual things our party heads engage in, all the while sacrificing the poor, working, and middle class to the desires of big name donors, I think he has a spotless track record by comparison.

My support isn't just a repudiation of Clinton alone, rather it is a repudiation of the monstrosity the Democratic Party has become.

How many years have we whined on DU that we as Democrats are split on fault lines while the working class and middle class bear the brunt of the work in this country with less and less to offer their kids? Years.

So now we finally have a candidate to speak to that in an unvarnished way and who has an instinct not to go around the world blowing stuff up just so the MIC can get richer. You think we aren't gonna jump at that even if the guy has some rough edges?

You gotta be out of your mind.
