Las Vegas Sun, Owned By Bill Clinton's College Roommate, Endorses Clinton!

Another one from the insiders 1% club for HRC!

The Las Vegas Sun is one of the Las Vegas Valley's two daily newspapers. It is owned by the Greenspun family and is affiliated with Greenspun Media Group.

The paper published afternoons on weekdays from 1990 to 2005. The paper is now included as a section inside the pages of Las Vegas Review-Journal but continues operating exclusively on its website.

Publisher and president Brian Greenspun, former publisher Hank Greenspun's son, was a college roommate of President Bill Clinton. Greenspun welcomed Clinton, while president, as a house guest during a Clinton fundraising trip to southern Nevada.

when one ventures forth into the world.

Retreating to a pastoral hamlet for the bulk of one's political career, might limit one's working relationships, especially if one is a life-long member of the You're Not Good Enough Party.

Ridiculous.

I lived in Vegas for 3 years. The LV Sun is the progressive paper in town. They have been endorsing D candidates for decades.

They endorsed Hillary for the reasons they outlined in their endorsement.

BTW - Vegas is a YUGE union town. The Sun's endorsement carries a lot of weight in that town. You can imagine what you will about why The Sun endorsed Hillary, but nobody in Vegas cares what you think.

Would much rather toil for 12 bucks and hour when they could have 15. You have an opinion all right if you believe people would rather make less money per hour because some guy in a suit in an office says so you're WAY off base.

Culinary workers in LV earn about 18% more than the national average in their field.

You're grasping at straws.

Las Vegas pays higher wages than the national average in what are lower paying jobs.

Housekeeping/landscapers/building grounds workers average 16% above the national average in wages. Culinary workers make 18% above the national average.

There are jobs in Vegas that pay below the national average, but those are all jobs at the higher end of things, like management positions.

Have you ever entertained thoughts of doing a web search for information before airing an unfounded opinion? Try it sometime.

Vegas #1 in foreclosures in the country. Take your own advice. I'm done arguing with corporate lovers who don't give a shit about 29 million unisured or highest poverty rate in history. Or crippling debt. Or the fact that this generation for the first time will NOT do as well as their parents. It's too bad people like you get to live comfortable lives. Enjoy the dust bin

You're a naif, lost in a forest of anger fetilized with willful ignorance.

A lot of canvassers are coming through my doors asking me about Clinton. I say "Bernie's my man". They quietly tell me "Me too!". I ask them, 'Why are you canvassing for Clinton then?' Canvasser: 'My union is making me do it' Me: 'Stay strong. The leadership are in it for Clinton. You have the right to choose who you want to vote for'.

This is a too-common theme here.

We were talking about union workers in LV, who are firmly behind Hillary at this point. She's done the hard work building union relationships, which is why they are supporting her.

For some reason I can't fathom, union workers in NV seem to like a candidate who spends time getting to know them in hopes of gaining their votes better than a candidate whose entire outreach to union members consists of him having his staff members masquerade as union workers to infiltrate their lunchroom to pass out campaign literature.

BTW - every union in LV has endorsed Hillary, except for the Culinary Union which is remaining neutral.

They have a joint distribution agreement dating from 2005 that saves each paper $ by having their print editions delivered together as a single entity.

Beyond that, both papers are independent entities with their own staffs, editorial boards, etc. The Sun's website is maintained by The Sun without any involvement from the LVRJ.

You know, all of the above is easily searched on the web. Often, a web search may save one making an uniformed snarky comment that exposes said person's ignorance and nothing else.

Not surprising. People that know Sanders tend to support him.

People who know both Clinton and Sanders tend to support Clinton.
