NEITHER candidate can get a left of center SCOTUS nominee through THIS Senate.

That's mostly because THIS Senate ends when the sine die adjournment commences no later than December 31, 2016.

Either candidate would be more concerned with getting nominations through the Senate in the 115th Congress than through the current senate in the 114th Congress.

Neither candidate can take office prior to January 20, 2017.

The 115th Congress takes office on January 3, 2017.

NEITHER Candidate could possibly deal with any nomination with THIS Senate since the NEXT Senate takes office before they could possibly take their oath of office.

Neither one of them has any possibility of being president before January 20, 2017.

I will bet you $100 we have a new Supreme Court Justice before Obama's term ends. Sorry, it's just going to happen.

doesn't make sense. Why are we even talking about next year when Obama will likely get someone through this year?

through THIS Senate.

The point of the OP is that both are ridiculous statements because neither candidate will ever face getting any nominee through this Senate.

IF that simple fact does not make sense to you, there is nothing I can do to help you.
