Sanders criticism grows pointed at black community forum

MINNEAPOLIS – A warm, welcoming African-American crowd grew increasingly frustrated with Sen. Bernie Sanders on Friday evening, complaining that he’s too scared to talk about specifically black issues.
Sanders was here for “A Community Forum on Black America,” introduced by the local congressman, Rep. Keith Ellison, one of Sanders' only two endorsers in the House, But unlike many of the packed rallies that have greeted Sanders in other parts of the country, neither the folding chairs nor the bleachers in the gym here at Patrick Henry High School were full.

And the crowd and the panel grew lukewarm on Sanders, saying his focus on economic inequality looks past the entrenched problems they face as African-Americans.

The quick scan of that title translates to "Sanders Blames Black Community" because we look for the important nouns and the verbs in headlines. It's a filter that propagandists count on. It's a way of repeating an implicit lie.

One even bragged about the fact that most people never read past the headline. Speaks volumes about them and their candidate and what they're willing to do to win.

thing about people thinking that Iowa's minority graphics were too small to make a difference..

.maybe she didn't want to appear with sanders and omalley...that's a possibility....it's pretty classic to avoid conflict with your competition right before a vote....

I saw the video of her meeting with black lives matters....while her tone was a bit rough her basic stance was I am going after the structural things....housing, health care education...

.you guys need to do the raising awareness part (which you are doing)..

.in other words she didn't just want it to be the wizard of oz thing...seeing if she can get more equality/funding on the housing education and health care. in congress..

local communities can organize themselves around what they need most.

...also she's been brave and come out against gun violence...specifically gun violence by the state toward minority communities....

she went into new hampshire on that btw even tho new hamphshire is the number one guns and ammo producing state in the nation ...bernie won't do it..

.so specifically I know she has decided to stand with mothers whose children have been victims of state gun violence and she is standing with loretta lynch while she prosecutes municipalities that are engaging in this state violence against minorities..

.because if you don't prosecute nothing will change.

.also she is standing with the victims of the ame massacre.

families/ mothers/parents whose children were victims of violence by the state..(i consider ame state violence...dylann roof did not have a background check....if he'd had one he would not have passed...this was the states fault)

.she's been making the connection for a while and has met with them all a while ago and they are behind her campaign because she has made this promise to support prosecution of state violence and also to pursue gun control..

.so there you go...those are her things really housing, education, health care and gun control and prosecuting state violence against minorities...she is there..

..I don't really think she is "leading" on the criminal justice reform because the republicans have decided to come out and be non-partisan about it and participate....so I think she sees that as an issue where she is now one of many not a standout for that.....

but I will give her kudo's for going to flint and speaking out about government accountability and I do think she thinks safe water is part of safe housing...that's why she went to flint...

.I am taking an educated guess that the reason she didn't go meet with minorities in Iowa...was to avoid competition and conflict right before a vote....and that as they say is politics.... that if she'd had an audience to herself it would be more to her liking...

this is pretty obvious in her campaign style....again politics....

But, as a POC, I can't do that. It's not politics to me. It is my life. My mother's life, my sisters life, my husband's life, my daughter's life. They matter and I matter.

She gets no pass from me. Hillary needs to attend our events and answer our questions. End of story.

you play politics...the internet, the media, the corporations the candidates...it's one big "trueman show" (jim carrey.0..the guy who begins to suspect his family/friends are actors and the life he is living is not real but part of a show for someone else's entertainment/profit/ benefit

if you feel overlooked you should contact her people and tell them that....or follow her schedule and see when she's going to be in your area...submit questions for answer....I do think there's more than one way to do it and it's a two way street....Cheers, maggie

Here's What Black People Are Saying About Bernie Sanders

MICHAELA DAY, LOCAL ACTIVIST WITH JUSTICE4JAMAR AND BLACK LIVES MATTER

"His stance on racial justice, and justice for marginalized groups in the past, before he was campaigning, that's what actually does speak to me. I don't feel like he's just feeding us a line of complete B.S., because he hasn’t flip-flopped the way Hillary has. If you look at his stance 40 years ago, 30 years ago, 20 years ago it's pretty much the same as today. [It's] as radical then as it is now, but it's sad that this is what they consider radical."
