On a lighter note: Bernie Sandwiches.

So, my mom, a former decades-long Clinton supporter, now a 77 yo Bernie Sanders enthusiast, sent this to me today. I was sure it would have made it to the DU, and sure enough, found it in the Sanders group; thanks to In_The_Wind:

Egg Salad Gribiche with smoked salmon on pumpernickel.

Place slices of salmon on one piece of bread, spread layer of egg salad on the other, top with lettuce and sliced tomato. P

Egg salad Gribiche:

6 Large Eggs, hard-boiled
2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard
5 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt, plus more as needed
1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper, plus more as needed
1/2 Cup Cornichons, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Brine-Packed Capers, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Fresh Tarragon, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Fresh Italian Parsley, finely chopped
1 Teaspoon Fresh Chervil, finely chopped

Directions

Peel the eggs, halve, and separate the whites from the yolks.
Place the egg yolks in a medium bowl and mash until they resemble cornmeal (some pea-size pieces will remain). Add the mustard and continue mashing until it is well incorporated.
Add the oil to the yolks, pouring in a thin, steady stream while constantly whisking to form a paste. Stir in the vinegar, salt, and pepper.
Finely chop the egg whites and add them to the yolk paste. Add the remaining ingredients and fold everything together until evenly combined. Taste and season with additional salt and pepper as needed.

Had a lot of canned salmon breaded patties as a kid, and more as an adult when it was definitely a great cheap protein and mixed it up a bit between tuna salad for cheap canned protein -- we watched the sales and bought in bulk. (Also had a lot of TVP-based spaghetti sauces and chilli, because there's no doubt it's cheaper than ground beef.)

But I have never been able to get into the taste even of fresh-frozen sliced salmon as a result. Maybe if it was cooked like when my sister's dad took us out to eat a few years ago and I got tuna steak on the beach (very fresh).... but it could have been the restaurant not the meat, too.

... inside what really appeared to me at least to be a pulled pork sandwich -- on the website for a Jewish newspaper, no less.

Maybe they have an excuse, if they are observant and haven't seen much pulled pork. But gah!

If Hillary wins the primary I have no doubt the Clenis and being under desks will be drawn back into the spotlight.

Personally, I wonder if Starr was jerking off as he wrote most of his Report. I think a lot of Conservatives who refused to indulge in regular pornography were enjoying themselves far too much reading it...

Though once the Internet became more popular, I was called by the wife of an ex-preacher to clean a Pr0n-virus usually only picked up visiting porno sites. It was on her son's computer, who was about 8, no less. The Missus asked how all these horrible images got on her child's computer, I had to tell her... but did offer to install antivirus and antimalware software on all household PCs for her as part of the visit. She was fuming, but fortunately not at me.
