(6,719 posts)Weird, eh? People not yet very involved. I invited 40 people to a debate watch party and only two came.

(6,719 posts)Our local Dem club met yesterday and we were talking about our place in the primary season -- very late. But we have lots of local races and will be working those. In the middle of the meeting someone announced the death of the supreme court justice. Silence as people tried to not clap! The first thing our president said was -- I know there is no one crying here but we want to be respectful.

(22,271 posts)in the "Events" section? The campaign has the names, emails, zip codes and phone numbers of volunteers who have signed on to the Bernie website and the campaign breaks it down by area. A week, then 2 days before your event, they email and text out to all those people about your Event. This is crucial in getting a good turnout.

(6,719 posts)We have some active groups and I get posts daily. I think we will have a good turnout. Thank you for the info you posted, I did not know about that. Just in the general public, excitement will build later as the actual time to vote draws nearer.

(17,064 posts)It's a closed primary, registration deadline is tomorrow. I'm hoping there will be a story on registration numbers coming out. I do know a fair number of Independants and third parties have switched to Dem to vote for Bernie, but I don't know if enough. It's a reasonable assumption that all recent re registrations are commited Bernie voters though.

(70 posts)Because if I didn't I wouldn't be true to myself. I voted for Hillary in '08 and expect to again in November frankly. Whoever I finally cast a ballot for in November, whether it be Bernie or Hillary, I will do so happily. Judging from the titles of some posts I have seen, I refuse to read the messages because of the vitriol inherent in the titles, I wonder if everyone on this site can say that. Voters staying home in the 2010 elections contributed to more votes overall for Democrats in House elections leading to republican control. Staying home in November because your favored candidate is not the standard bearer and you are still pouting about it is now akin to saying, "I like all of the decisions coming out of the Supreme Court for the past 50 years and look forward to similar decisions in the next 50 years."
