2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Tragedy of Hillary Clinton (and Her Generation)
I read a very interesting piece on Huffpo a few minutes ago. It was so strange seeing someone else look at Hillary Clinton much the same way that I do. I agree with the author of the piece that because of her success within the establishment, instead of changing the system as she once wanted to do she herself has been changed. I know the Clinton supporters at DU will not agree with this piece but I hope there are some undecideds that might view it as another piece to consider as they weigh whom to support in the election.
I keep trying to use the link feature but evidently I'm doing something wrong because I can't get it to work.

(30,058 posts)Comparison of the Clintons and Sanders it would be evident there are lapses on the Sanders side. I can live with every problem listed about the Clintons and BTW I am of the Clintons generation but I doubt many could allow a post of the Sanders lapses would remain, it doesn't change the fact there are lapses. Soon the getting will begin.

(1,890 posts)Yes it is. It's one person' s opinion. I read opinion pieces that agree with my view and ones that don't. I thought some other people on DU might like reading this piece whether they agree with it or not.
When I worked on Bill Clinton's campaign in 1992 I would have never dreamed that I wouldn't support a Hillary run for President. I don't hate Hillary, I just can't support her.

(12,328 posts)1) I failed to see any explanation, or even mention, of that claim in the article.
2) Mr. Ferguson is critiquing her choice of a spouse. That's fine, if he's doing the same with all of the male candidates in this campaign, on both sides.
3) It's refreshing to read this article written by someone who is living in abject poverty. It gives him a lot more credibility.

(1,890 posts)On the title including her generation. There wasn't much back up for that and I also agree with you about the spouse part. That was not necessary. On your third point I don't think that it has anything to do with the piece.

Your OP piqued my interest in Mr. Ferguson. He wrote a book called "High Stakes, No Prisoners: A Winners Tale of Greed and Glory in the Internet Wars." This looks like verrrry good reading. Let's hope Amazon has a sale on it soon!

(1,890 posts)having someone who profited from it criticize it may give him more credibility in some peoples eyes. Anyway glad you could at least find an interesting book to read from it.
