The "Gish Gallop"

I've been posting about Conservative rhetoric for a few months now, and it never ceases to amaze my that moderators let the "Gish Gallop" slide when the Cons are screaming hyperactive lies and nonsense.

The technique is as old as the hills, in fact Mrs. Joycejnr used it when I got home late last night...

Then, Obama just listened and addressed the most serious accusations.

This time, is it correct that Mitt just lied about HIS own policies rather than throwing a pile of accusations at Obama to see which one stuck? Both are definitely Gish Gallop.

Your link to the Gish Gallop site on dailykos is great. So why couldn't Obama's coolness work this time? I guess when a con man is spewing his sales pitch people really "glom" onto it?

It's like a mercury amalgam. Gold attaches itself to the mercury amalgam. But this time all we get is the poisonous mercury attached to Obama's pure gold. America doesn't need poisonous Mitt, the parasite.
