They are distracting and counterproductive IMO.
Candidates tend to play to them too.

By the people, for the people. The PEOPLE should be involved in these debates in some capacity.

People are more on point anyway than many of these bullshit mainstream media questions about emails or who-said-what about who. That's not debate worthy.
Let's talk policy in a rational, smart roundtable-like setting for once.

...I've really enjoyed each one I watched so far. I also like the actual audience participation, particularly in the last one. The questioners seemed very sincere. The first one was awful and horribly scripted.
