3. Threats?

"If you thwart the will of the people, we're going to vote you out" seems to be a pretty basic concept in a representative democracy.

5. We know that they do respond to threats.

The threat of losing funding to retain their seat is their prime motivation in life. We need to restructure the nature of that threat and show them that the money is secondary to the actual voters.

Wouldn't you agree that is a fair position to embrace?

7. In todays political climate it takes money to hold your seat. It is not the way things should be we

most likely agree but money speaks louder than your threats.

10. It is no threat to state that the way things are

need to change. Would you tell gay people that fought for the right to get married that they need to just accept the way things "are"?

Should black people accept a status as second class citizens because that is just the way things are?

Should women be denied a vote because that is just the way things are?

If "HELL NO" was the first thought that crossed your mind, I'm glad. Everyday has a political climate, and it is those who refuse to accept "that's the way it is" who change it into "That is the way it was".

11. I will be 70 in three months. I marched in civil rights demonstrations as Bernie has in the 60's

I was a district leader for the Human Rights Campaign fighting for marriage equality. My mother-in-law was a NOW chapter chairperson.

So I am familiar with all those issues.

I think sometimes some people think they have the market cornered on being progressive. I ask them what have you done more than what do you think.

13. I am very much younger than you

and I am frightened about my future.

Think about how someone 30 years younger than you must feel. They are talking about raising the SS age, health insurance costs are through the roof (not the fault of the ACA, either - it just postponed the agony for a few minutes) and financial stability regardless if you have worked your entire life in a well-paid job is *STILL* on precarious footing.

That is where I am coming from.

15. I constantly think about how much harder your life must be compared to mine. It tears me up inside.

I could get a good paying job out of high school. I could work as a banquet waiter to pay for my college education. My student loan was a couple of thousand dollars. I am a Vietnam Vet so part of my schooling was paid by the GI bill. I bought several houses with VA loans. I am retiring with a defined benefit pension plan. I am in a union.

I know most of that is not available to you. People my age have grand kids that we care about dearly and want the best life for them as possible.

I do believe Hillary will try to make your chances better. She is close to my age. She has been fighing for families and children her whole life.

I also know that the narrative about Hillary on this board isn't like what I say. Again I think in the future some minds will be changed.

6. If you are an elected official

"I won't vote for you" isn't a threat - it's a way of life.

You don't get elected if "You won't get my vote" is elevated to threat level red.

8. That picture says to me, "You better support Bernie and his ideas or else."

I think you will find in the coming weeks that Bernie doesn't speak for the majority so the threat isn't a very potent one.

I see it as Hillary stating, you better support *ME* or else you will have a Republican in the White House.

Oh wait.

I've heard that for pretty much as long as the presidential run-up started. I heard that when Bernie announced.

I heard that right up until Iowa. I heard it the night after, too.

I heard it before New Hampshire, and once again, here it is in a different form.

At least you are aware that Bernie Sanders has aided the Hillary Clinton team in waking up and smelling the coffee.

12. I do believe that if Bernie wins the nomination we will lose the White House.

I think you will find in the coming weeks that his base is very limited. He is week on foreign policy. He says for his plans to work there needs to be a revolution. He says he wants to grow government. He says he wants to raise taxes.

You can't even say that here on DU with out being attacked what will happen when Repubs say it?

You realize that the repubs have been running ads trying to help Bernie win primaries. They have spent millions on them so far. I wouldn't be surprised if we find that some of Bernie's $27 donations come from repubs. Of course that amount is to small to trace.

Democrats as a whole voting to choose who should be our candidate.

I will say this though - for every horrible thing that Republicans will throw at Bernie Sanders, you can bet they will throw it at Hillary Clinton just as hard.

Fearing what nauseous attacks Republicans will throw at a Democratic candidate is like being afraid of the sun setting.

It will rise again tomorrow.

Hillary has over 30 years of being attacked by repubs. She is still standing and she will be standing in the White House I hope.

that the nut jobs in the Republican party don't need to get even *close* to the White House.
