2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumA little unasked for opinion.. but cool your jets people
So the CBC has backed Clinton.. Younger women backed Sanders.. etc etc.. and then everyone runs to find some negative story about the other candidate.. There is so much prickly heat going on in here that a can of gold bond powder probably wouldn't hurt..
I mean seriously.. some of you are starting to be a little deranged.. its not about policy differences..but oh my GOD.. how much I hate that other candidate..
Fire away Admiral Nelson..

(22,877 posts)I thought that the board had a meeting and the majority chose to support Clinton..Now I do not know what the other members had to say.. but never thought of the board as a pac..

(29,798 posts)The CBC did not endorse anyone.
The CBC PAC board endorsed HRC.
Confusion gone?

(62,421 posts)Ben Branch, the executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC told The Intercept that his group made the decision after a vote from its 20-member board. The board includes 11 lobbyists, seven elected officials, and two officials who work for the PAC. Branch confirmed that the lobbyists were involved in the endorsement, but would not go into detail about the process.
Members of the CBC PAC board include Daron Watts, a lobbyist for Purdue Pharma, the makers of highly addictive opioid OxyContin; Mike Mckay and Chaka Burgess, both lobbyists for Navient, the student loan giant that was spun off of Sallie Mae; former Rep. Al Wynn, D-Md., a lobbyist who represents a range of clients, including work last year on behalf of Lorillard Tobacco, the makers of Newport cigarettes; and William A. Kirk, who lobbies for a cigar industry trade group on a range of tobacco regulations.
Much more at link - I happen to regard Lee Fang up there with Matt Taibi for getting the real story.
As for me I think the CBC did themselves a lot of damage by letting the CBCPAC use their good name for cover and confusion. Whoever in the CBC that decided to do that should at a minimum come out and be honest about the endorsement and that it is not supported by the full CBC. Probably technically not a lie but really unethical.
But I would call it a lie.

(22,877 posts)When I came on line and read the story it was the board of the CBC.. so pac had me completely confused..
I did not even realize the CBC had a pac..
I will get to the link later.. cooking dinner and just peeking in at the board..
I still think there is just too much hatred of the candidates as opposed to really getting into the weeds of their policies..

(11,495 posts)The hate is getting terrible here, and it seems that everyday more and more people show up here on DU spewing the hate, and their numbers keep growing. I wonder if Karl Rove has a hand in that?
