How to Change the Democratic Party Nominating Process

How we nominate someone to run as our nominee for President is decided by the Democratic Party itself, both nationally and in each of our 50 states. If you're unhappy with the way it's done, you should know that the process has changed many times over the years. The process CAN be changed and HAS BEEN changed. If you want to be part of future change, here's how to do that, step-by-step:

1. Join your local Democratic Party organization.
2. Work hard with your fellow members to elect Democrats.
3. Become an official in that local organization, through its election process.
4. As a local party official, you'll be involved at the next higher level of the party organization.
5. Work hard with your fellow party officials in your county or district to elect Democrats.
6. Run to become a party official at this new level.
7. As such an official, you'll be involved in the next higher level, probably the state party organization.
8. Work hard with your fellow state party organization membership to get Democrats elected.
9. Run to become a state party organization official.
10. As a state party official, you'll be involved with the national party organization.
11. Work hard with your fellow state party officials to elect Democrats.
12. Run to become a national Democratic National Committee member.
13. Work hard with others at the DNC to change the presidential primary nominating process.

That's all there is to it. If you start this year, you should become a national committee member within a couple of decades. You'll have to put in a lot of hard work and earn a good deal of respect from those around you. You'll have to play a role at getting Democrats elected to office successfully at all levels. It takes a lot of time and energy, but you'll finally be in a position where you can change the system used to nominate people to run for President. Of course, there's no guarantee of success at any of those levels, but with hard work and network-building, you can succeed.

Good luck!

The Democratic Party exists to get Democrats elected. Not conservatives or moderates or progressives or liberals or extremists.

Democrats.

We are a big-tent party. We have every stripe of D, from conservative to ultra-liberal. But we're all Ds.

I guess it's just the times we live in. Instant messages. K-cup coffee. Same-day parcel delivery by drones. Everyone wants whatever it is they want right fucking now... and YESTERDAY if possible.
