2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumVice president for Sanders
After some thought, research and reinforced by some of his recent interviews (interview with Rachel tonight was excellent) I would happily endorse Ben Jealous as a candidate for vice-president of the United States for a president Bernie Sanders.

I hope and expect Bernie will choose a person of color or a woman. Or both.

(8,700 posts)Ben would be my first. Nina Turner is a worthy candidate as well and from a key state in the GE.

Jealous (and Vilsack) didn't do the equivalent of dropping a pass or missing a field goal. They did the equivalent of intercepting the ball, running 99 yards, and scoring a touchdown...for the other team.

There is always Ms.Turner as well. I also admit there may be others that just are not on my radar.

Ben Jealous being a black man was not my major driver in my picking him. I looked at the surrogates Sanders has chosen and Ben stood out as the best choice to me.
