How about that idea,
if Bern get's nominated he can grab Hillary as his VP pick,,,
If Hillary is nominated she can grab Bern as her VP pick,,,
think the tow would be a power house duo that would clean up in the election or would Bernie's Democratic Socialist label drag the campaign down?
just an idea i thought up.

(17,320 posts)the nomination, Warren might be interested in the VP slot. If Bernie were to win the Presidency, he might not wish to keep the position after four years. Warren would then be a "shoe in" for another eight years. That would give us at least eight years of sane, ethical and highly intelligent leadership from the White House. The Senate and House would likely regain a Democratic balance.

(24,122 posts)While I wish Elizabeth had run her own campaign this time around - either along with, or in place of, Bernie - I'm definitely excited by the prospect of having both of them on the ticket. Just hope it's Donald Chump we're goin up against... they'll crush his obnoxious, pompous ass.

(14,255 posts)Bernie would be wasted as VP - reduced to attending events and the occasional tie-breaker.
I could see Warren as VP - because I think Bernie would give her more power. They would be teammates, not the president and a sidekick. JMO and all that.

Bernie and Warren would make good teammates, I think.
On the other hand, Warren in the Senate is a big plus.

(643 posts)Hillary is all about Hillary. She's not interested in anything but the presidency. And I can't imagine that Sanders would feel that his ideas would have any chance of becoming a reality if he were to be VP.

(45,806 posts)His age doesn't bother ME, however, I've heard enough complaints from others to know that he needs a younger person than Hillary. The other objection is that Hillary is seen as being from New York, and Bernie is of course from NH. Two North East States. It's a much better idea to have a good candidate from some other "purple state" where you can bolster you chances. Somewhere like Ohio, Florida, or an important State in the Midwest, or West.
Many say the VP candidate doesn't matter, but think back 7 years ago when McCain chose Sarah. I KNOW many times I heard voters say "OH GOD, he's pretty old, the SHE could become President! ARGH!!!"

(15,512 posts)Barack wound up doing much the same though he didn't put Hillary on the ticket. I think Hillary will prevail, and Bernie knows or has expected that all along, though it's possible that she won't. Either way I think they'd make a good team.

(8,311 posts)That was a friend's prediction before Iowa who would actually end up with the GOP nomination after they got sick enough of Trump talk on forums like RedState to start lumping him in with Ron Paulers, and all of the Evangelical candidates did their grandstanding.
Young, while both of our candidates are older.
I could see Elizabeth Warren as Bernie's VP tap, especially since she declined to run and endorsed him.
I don't think Hillary would pick Elizabeth, just because the "girl power" ticket might be too heavy. At the same time, if Rubio or someone else young and claiming to be something less than batshit insane wins the GOP ticket, she might ask O'Malley, or someone else. (I know SNL has made plenty of jokes about her asking Bill, but he truly wouldn't be qualified for the full duties of the office, namely being the President in the unlikely event Hillary died first).

(2,074 posts)Either one would need someone younger. For Hillary, someone like Julian Castro probably.
For Bernie, I don't know. I don't think he and Warren would make a winning ticket. And since he does not really have strong ties with the Democratic Party, I can't think of any Dem that he would be a natural fit with. If he's the nominee, I'm sure he'll find someone though.

(2,074 posts)She seems quite interesting. Two things, though: I think most people would go, "who?". And secondly, the optics (although not the politics, of course) would probably remind a lot of people of McCain/Palin: old man and young, pretty, unknown woman from one of the off-mainland states.
Interesting though.

(7,300 posts)A Sanders/Warren ticket would win 50 states in the GE, IMO. But that's all it is, my opinion. I would also like O'Malley due to his youth and most of his positions.

(23,156 posts)They would NOT be a powerhouse duo. They are diametrically opposed in many essential ways, including the real need for a universal health care/single payer system, the role of the military around the world, the presence of Wall Street in our country's economy, just to name three things.
Can you seriously imagine Hillary campaigning for Bernie and sounding sincere? Can you imagine Bernie saying Vote for Hillary?
You can only suggest this pairing if you don't fully understand how the system works, or if you haven't been paying much attention to the genuine gulf between the two.

(19,537 posts)If you had a VP that extremists from either side would rather have in power, there would be a far higher likelihood of the top of the ticket getting assassinated, which would not be good for our country whether the person in question were Hillary or Bernie.
i'd rather have someone like Warren as VP for Bernie, as then if Bernie wanted to only be president for one term, then Warren running for 2020 would be a great thing. He'd have the freedom to stay in office one or two terms, and those voting him in would feel good either way.
Bernie as VP to Clinton would also lose his power in the Senate too, which most of us wouldn't like if he weren't president.

(7,231 posts)So like the rest of her corporate coddle club, Clinton should neither be at the top of the ticket, nor anywhere near it. Plenty of good VP choices beside Sanders. Ms. Turner would be my favorite, although I wouldn't mind Martin O'Malley either.

(937 posts)Whether you like Clinton or Bernie, you must look at the most likely reality and prepare for it.
The current reality is that it will likely be Trump vs Clinton in the general election.
If that happens, the best way to keep the most fervent supporters of both candidates engaged, young people and minorities, is to ensure there is some sort of negotiated power sharing. That is what democracy is all about.
As Clinton's VP, Bernie would serve as our irrepressible and highly vocal progressive inside watchdog objecting proudly, loudly and publicly when the Clintons stray from our progressive agenda. Outside of the presidency itself, what more visible platform could we have than an insider keeping the American public informed of what is really going on behind closed doors in Washington?
Trump is far stronger among the general public than polls now indicate. The election may be very close and we cannot afford to lose three or more Supreme Court seats to anti-progressive Republicans should some of you decide to sit out the election in spite.
Clinton may not want Bernie as VP to serve as a thorn in her side but electoral reality and a grassroots movement to draft Bernie as her VP choice would go a long way toward forcing her hand.
I really wish that someone who is Facebook social media savvy would start a Clinton-Sanders movement GROUP to share our thoughts about this. There are already two very small Facebook Clinton-Sanders PAGES but that format is not conducive to member interaction. At the start, to gain membership, a PUBLIC FACEBOOK GROUP would be best. Later, after the inevitable trolls and spammers join in, it should be changed to a PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP.

(9,958 posts)...accept. But, they will work and appear together. They just don't balance each other correctly. Both would need a "next generation" running mate, first. Hillary brings experience, but it's way too much... people wouldn't accept her as subservient to Bernie. He brings the left, but she'll be looking for left-center and people would see him as a sell-out.
