2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhere's the best place to donate to Bernie?
I read the average donation to Bernie is $27.16.
I want to send in MINE!
(I'd prefer to use Paypal, but I don't know if that's an option)

(45,251 posts)Act Blue will ask if you want to leave a "tip" but you can say no with no problem whatever.
The links allow us to keep track of what we give, which is really nice and motivating.

In this case, it's for friends at my workplace!
We'll be raising a cup to Bernie and believe me, where I work, it will NOT go un-noticed!

(55,981 posts)I also hand out flyers and find a lot of people interested in learning who Sanders is. I think they will approve of what they find.

(5,942 posts)I did last night. A one time donation of $27.00. Since then Act Blue has taken out $27.00 two more times. I laughed off the first time and said I did it for my kids. But when I woke up and saw they had done it again, I started trying to contact Act Blue to make sure it stops. I have spent the past hour trying to get in touch with Act Blue. Be very careful donating through them.

(14,733 posts)Their site got overwhelmed, and that probably caused the hiccups with multiple hits on your card. We had the same problem with a site I helped code up when we were running the New York Film Festival online sales, and everybody and their brother all were trying to buy tickets right at the exact same minute tickets went on sale. The first year that happened was a nightmare, and I spent days processing refunds manually for people who got hit with multiple charges, or got charged without getting tickets. The next year we till had trouble, but far fewer, and after that we basically had the traffic issues figured out.
I just donated through them this morning, and don't expect any problems with mine.

(5,942 posts)I have spent more than an hour on hold trying to get them to stop hitting my account with charges.
I would never donate on his site during times when it might be busy. Act Blue clearly has trouble handling volume.
