(297,503 posts)read enough comments to know that was coming..this is Freaking PRICELESS!
What an Asshole hopped up on Red Bull.
"just kept streamrolling".. OMY
I also want one with RobMe's admission of shipping jobs overseas in a Presidential debate (the fool thought it was funny! As funny as a 10 grand bet!).
Edited to add (from the transcript):
RMONEY: ....
"you get a deduction for taking a plant overseas. Look, I've been in business for 25 years. I have no idea what you're talking about. I maybe need to get a new accountant." .....
(Emphasis mine)
Mutiny In Heaven
(550 posts)they need that in an 'etch-a-sketch' ad now. Now. Now is the time to compare and contrast and make him look like a fool. I don't think this works because it's effectively the DNC trying to make a sow's purse out of what has been perceived as a pigs ear; they're reaching because, unfortunately, Romney's "forceful" behaviour is what enabled him to get the win.
The music needs to be in every ad, because Romney is an odd cookie. You need to marry it to the right material though.

(4,551 posts)I would recommend a series of ads on all the lies & flip-flops over the years.
Obviously the subject of abortion should be one, particularly advertised to women viewers. Play the lie Romney told in the Ted Kennedy debate where he says he will keep Roe v. Wade next to the excerpt of him saying in the GOP primaries that he wants to overturn it.
And slam him HARD.

(64 posts)That's all I saw from last night's debate. Rmoney is a big school yard bully. Mitt the filibuster. Were there any rules in that debate? Why did Jim even show up?
BlueMTexpat
(15,370 posts)supreme sense of entitlement. "I think I should get the last word." Never respecting the rules when they are not in his favor illustrates his whole character.
I love it! You can't even make this up. Rmoney has provided enough fodder from now until the election.
Way to go, Dems!

(4,551 posts)I get nervous when I see too many chortling emoticons predicting Romney's downfall.
I'll celebrate after November 6 when Romney is hopefully gone.
Until then I don't want to jinx it.

(16,903 posts)THIS WAS INTENTIONAL.
Let Mitt spew his lies uncontrollably, and then make ads from them.. It's a big gamble, but it may just be what the doctor ordered!!!

(4,551 posts)My Dad watched the debate with me and said he thought Obama looked tired.
It could just be something like simple exhaustion from all the work he's done lately.

Best case scenario if Romney wins: the Court is fucked for the rest of my lifetime.
Totally plausible scenario: we all die.
Thanks, Pres.

(3,076 posts)... Obama let Mitt ramble on, perform Freudian slips, act condescending (did anyone else notice Mitt's "cute" little head tilt and smirk at times, as if he were looking at a cute puppy in a cage?) and paint himself into a corner with his hard sell, statements/half truths and lies. Let that resonate for a few weeks, then in the next debate pick everything apart. This first debate was just an exploratory investigation, so to speak.
And when Mitt gave the story of the, "young mother... whose husband lost 4 jobs in 3 years...", asks Mitt or Ann if they can help them, Mitt and/or Ann said, "Yes we(he) can". How? no explanation on how they can help that person's situation. What is Mitt going to do to, "help", them? Send them a box of feathers and tell them to be tickled pink? How does Mitt's pride in "tax deductions for shipping jobs overseas", fit in with this lady's predicament?
TroyD
(4,551 posts)It's all well & good to go on an exploratory investigation, but I just don't want our poll numbers to come down too much in the meantime.
Remember there are other people's seats at stake too eg. The Senate

(3,526 posts)...to everything he has said before. Now he's trying to sell himself as a moderate? LOL!!
Think about it....Mitt completely repudiated the views of the GOP/Tea Nazi far-right. I wonder what they're thinking today?
TroyD
(4,551 posts)Aren't they all in ecstasy today?
I think we're fooling ourselves if we think they are going to abandon Romney just because he lied and dumped some of his right-wing policies.
They're just glad that he's lying and they don't care how he gets there. They want Obama put in his place.
KurtNYC
(14,549 posts)but everyone will hear the spin and any phrases that stick.
Obama was looking down a lot while Romney was speaking. Probably making notes but the image on TV looked like Obama was sleeping. Almost like it was a superliminal suggestion to just tune out and go to sleep.

(662 posts)Well at least we know one of the programs that Romney would cut in order to balance his dificit budget. He will go after Public TV and BIG BIRD. The big guy just loves to fire people, puppets, no matter.

(25,415 posts)Romney is a pretty big turnoff for a lot of women because he is rude, condescending, smug and smarmy. It came up in focus groups last night among women. As a woman, I would say this ad is right on about Mitt's personality.
TroyD
(4,551 posts)It's the men - particularly white men.
We need to keep some of that vote.
So we should be reaching out to them too.

(1,425 posts)I just played the ad for my husband, and said, "This is what women will remember, how rude and disrespectful Romney is." Women in business, especially older women like me, have been on the receiving end of that type of behavior for years. Alpha male behavior = entitled bully, imo. It made me so angry, I turned off the debate.
Not Me
(3,398 posts)and this is very typical of their demeanor. They are used to getting whatever they want. All the time.
This ad goes there in 38 seconds.

(1,663 posts)I was really shocked at how Lehrer allowed Romney to get away with this. Romney behaved just like typical arrogant people who work in the top echelon of the financial world. I know I am related to a few of them and they are not at all likeable because of just this type of behavior.

(8,053 posts)hacking off that young man's hair while the poor guy was screaming in fear of his life? I can totally see where that came from.
This is how he's going to act when it comes to foreign leaders and our country will be at war with the world withing 6 months.

(8,053 posts)just hours after arriving in Denver? How do they feel the next day, after some sleep?
I'd say they feel the thin air quite acutely.
I think that that is what zapped Obama--mittiot was there the day before, got to get some sleep before the debate.
Keeping the free world free doesn't do much in the way of clearing your calendar so you can leisurely arrive the day before.

(6,551 posts)I've lived in Denver many years (a retired prof at the University of Denver), and I wish you were right. But while the altitude plays a big role for visiting teams in NFL games, if you're not exercising, it's really not a big deal. I felt a bit fatigued the first month or two after coming to Denver, but not significantly so.
Obama did look tired but it was probably because of all the middle east stress, especially given the events earlier yesterday.
