(47,209 posts)How do they see Trump having the same qualities?
That and the odd idea I just read that Hillary is a "mean Mommie" are killing me.

just do X Y and Z" to every question he gets. Do people honestly believe him? Suckers.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)is that they may be finally understanding how little their congress critters have done to make their lives better. If we could work on bringing the moderate Republicans a little leftward, we'd be setup for real progress.

(27,813 posts)There is a mirror element to their support - Sanders talks about income inequality to a mainly white, rather affluent crowd. Trump preaches the opposite to a mainly white, but much lower-income crowd. Many in both groups like the concept of the political outsider and both candidates haven't previously identified with the party for which they've chosen to run for office. This is not a comment discussing the relative merits of each person - I'm merely summarizing what I thought was a fairly astute observation made in Iowa last week by a reporter.

(47,209 posts)I guess you know shit is bad when white people feel like outsiders! HA. Interesting- thanks!

(67,109 posts)proving IMO what damn ignorant unenlightened fools republicans are.
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)of course he's not a selfish lying moron like Trump, but that's an interesting thought. Repetition works?
It bores me, but I am not an average voter.
libdem4life
(13,877 posts)it gets lost somehow. What should he do, change positions every week or so, or each group he speaks to? That's one thing she won't be charged with...repetition. LOL
bettyellen
(47,209 posts)oligarchs, Citizen's United, corruption, boom. He added things later, which I liked, but maybe keeping it simple works for many voters? Someone pointed out his supporters actually quote his speeches more than anyone else's. That;s great for him, no?
libdem4life
(13,877 posts)At least he's consistent, honest and has a long background of experience and success to bring to the proverbial Party.
About his stump speech...I've not heard a similar grouping of progressive/populist issues and challenges in decades...if ever. Ii never get bored listening...but that's just me.

(13,877 posts)I was an early elementary school teacher and the thrill of the bright-eyed "aha" made all of the sometimes monotonous repetition worth it all. Didn't matter if it was recognizing a shape or a sound or reading a simple sentence from a reading book...it was exciting.
I see the same in Bernie. He'll say it as many times as it takes to sink in.

bettyellen
(47,209 posts)very weird sort of stupidity that they love the glib...... whatever it is. Ugh, I am skeeved thinking about Trump.

(421 posts)Trump's an ass, but what voters are looking for is someone outside the establishment who tells it like it is. They want a strong personality. Someone with conviction.
Sanders is the real deal, and eventually the truth will out. Anyone who can win over Trump supporters plus begins with a large base of their own wins this thing.
