I do think he made a valid point, though-maybe Obama doesn't fully realize the fierce debates that go on over the issues. Maybe a little MSNBC would benefit him.

(19,178 posts)He needs to fire those advisers. They may have cost him the election. And obviously he needs to have someone other than Kerry prep him. He needs tone away from family distractions so he can focus on the next debates. Might be too late if Romney gets a big bounce. Our chance to des with the crappy polls.

However... it must be hard to be a surrogate and have to anticipate all the possible ways that Romney could lie without ceasing.

(35,701 posts)I remember him insisting that Dan Quayle won the VP debate with Gore back in 1992 simply because Quayle shouted his way through it. He was wrong then and he is wrong now.

This 'No Drama Obama' act has used up its usefulness.
Rmoney had energy and although he lied through his teeth over and over, he was sharper, assertive and, well, did a better job 'debating' than Pres. Obama.
It does make me angry that Pres. Obama didn't go into this with the aggressiveness he needed and let Rmoney walk all over him and Lehrer.
All we can hope for is that Pres. Obama comes to the next debate ready to defend himself and his programs AND to call out Rmoney on his deceptions and flip flops (didn't Rachel Maddow say that Obama did not once attack Rmoney?).

(1,828 posts)It all makes me think of the Obama-McCain (and Biden/Palin) debates. The pundits went on and on about how Obama lost, how he droned on and on, how he was too professorial ... how Sarah was just so feisty and got in Joe's face and beat him ... and then the instapolls completely contradicted them all.
Don't know if they're even doing those this year. But I do remember the pundits were shocked - SHOCKED, I tell you! - to see the public saw the debates differently than they did. Hope this is the case again.

(272 posts)I cannot STAND Romney... Or Ryan... But Mitt clearly WON that debate, and even Ed and Chris on MSNBC admitted it.
It's a dark day, but there's at least 2 more presidential debates, and The President CAN rebound!!!
