I used to admire this man.

Bill Clinton batters and blasts Bernie Sanders, February 7, 2016
Clinton accused Sanders of hypocrisy for portraying his wife as beholden to Wall Street because of campaign donations and speaking fees she has accepted from firms like Goldman Sachs. He said he frankly, fell out of my chair after reading a CNN report that Sanders has been a prolific Democratic fundraiser, raising cash from the financial sector at retreats in Palm Beach and Marthas Vineyard. Anybody who takes money from Goldman Sachs couldnt possibly be President, Clinton said. He may have to tweak that answer a little bit, or we may have to get a write-in candidate.
.....
He railed against how Sanders handled the data breach last December, when his operatives were able to access the Clinton campaigns voter file because of a breach in the Democratic National Committees database and seemed to know every intricate turn of the somewhat esoteric data scandal.
It was your campaign that made 25 separate inquiries in the mere space of 30 minutes trying to (loot) information out of computers, Clinton said, waving off Sanders public apology because in private (his campaign) sent an email complaining (about the DNC) leaving the keys in the car, and said, all I did was drive off. And Bill Clinton expressed outrage at the chutzpah of Sanders campaign to go and raise $1 million off the incident. You gotta give it to em, he said, I mean, thats really good."
..... When its all said and done, all that matters is whether people are better off, whether young people have a better future. The rest of this is all background noise. All of this back and forth, it will blow away like smoke in the wind.
So may the obscenely financially-beneficial future of the Clinton Foundation, if President Sanders takes the helm.

under capacity. Must have been a little embarrassing.

(6,960 posts)Bill used to be a good campaigner ... but nothing lasts forever.
Hillary has never had the Bill Clinton political ability to connect with ordinary people.
The times have changed, indeed.
It isn't the 1990s anymore.
As every day goes by it becomes more and more evident that the Hillary Clinton campaign is just totally clueless about the plight of everyday real Americans. And it becomes more obvious every day that Hillary is totally compromised by all of her bankster associates, her high power lobbyist pals, her insider dealing, her scandals, her conservative foreign policy, etc.
The Clintons could have been elder states-people and beloved Democrats of the past ... but Hillary's ambition is going to leave them instead with a tarnished reputation.
As a person who was a county chair for the Bill Clinton campaign back in 1992, this all makes me sad in a lot of ways.
College for all and Universal Healthcare, small things?
Bill, by that definition you had eight years to accomplish some small things and failed.
Or is it that you want to define what is big and small and who those big and small things help.
For full disclosure, the net result of a Sanders Presidency would likely just be higher taxes for me and not enough benefits to offset the cost. But that is ok, I think it would be an overall positive impact on the Country, kind of the patriotic thing to do, the moral thing to do, because it is not all about me. Get it Bill?

Bill, are you sure you want THIS to be your yardstick, because if that is the case, you are wayy wayy wayy behind.
Then again, if some of your supporters did not demonize everyone under 45, you might see that.
To quote David Bowie "but these children that you spit on, they're aware of what they are going through."

The fake laugh
The pout or frown
The hand gesture to distract from the facial flinches ......Bernie is an honest man who believes what he says and says what he believes . I see the the Clintons as players , very good players in a high stakes game of liar's poker .

(23 posts)From a man that campaigned on universal healthcare coverage and expanding access to education and then turned around and betrayed the poor and working class. I don't know why Democrats have this mythical notion in mind that Clinton was a great President. He was center left just like Hillary is center left. When you're campaign is funded by millionaires and billionaires your policies are going to reflect it.
