Before the "Bernie Bro", Clinton supporters created the "Obama Boy."

So, Sanders was recently forced to condemn mean sexist people on the internet. Yet, as Gloria Steinem says that young women support Bernie because they are just boy crazy, Clinton is not called to condemn her sexist supporters. And when Madeline Albright tells people that “there is a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other out,” Clinton does not apologize. In fact, she just laughed.

And if you think the Bernie Bro thing is just a creation by the internet, well, the Clinton campaign has officially adopted it…

So where DID this idea that Sanders supporters are super sexist come from? Let’s ask Tom Watson, circa 8 years ago...

The messiah complex in Obama scares the hell out of me - as does his campaign's casual acceptance of sexism so easily in order to win...

I have and I bet there are many more first person accounts from people like Al Franken. Chuck Todd said today that he's been the victiom of it too.

People are fighting the establishment right now, as well: that people get angry when perceived liberals like Franken endorse the status quo isn't that far-fetched. It should anger us all that our parties are two sides of the same coin.

The anonymity of the Internet unfortunately invites inappropriate behavior, and because they can get away with it some people post rude, nasty stuff that they'd never say to anyone in person. There has been a fair amount of nastiness from supporters on both sides; I don't think either camp can claim the high ground. I've read that approximately 2% of any given group will be deviant in some regard, and I'm guessing, accordingly, that the really over-the top rudeness is coming from that 2%. Which, of course, means that the other 98% are not rude assholes.

If there is more alleged bad Internet behavior coming from the Sanders side it's probably because there seem to be more Sanders supporters on the Internet altogether, considering that there are so many young people on that side. And maybe there are some younger people who are so new to political involvement that they haven't learned to temper their passion and behave themselves and get the hell off the old peoples' lawns.

But, I will explain that it's outrageous that Bernie has to condemn unsolicited comments from people on the Internet who aren't an official part of his campaign, but no one is calling for Hillary to condemn Madeline Albright's sexist statement even though Albright IS an official part of Clinton's campaign.

I don't cotton much to hypocrisy.

“I don’t want people to be offended,” Clinton said. But when asked if she understood why some women did take offense, she suggested political correctness had made Americans overly sensitive.

“Good grief, we’re getting offended by everything these days!” she said. “People can’t say anything without offending somebody.”

no matter how much they try to dismiss it.

Glad to see Bernie call it out, but I don't think it's going to make any difference at this point.

.

Dang! Another trend soon to play out...

These attacks keep getting more Right Wing by the day.

The Moral Majority types would constantly bring up what is Christian and images of an American Hellscape!

===

I remember when Reagan's folks would claim that Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale were the Anti-Christ!

I remember when George H. W. Bush would call Bill Clinton a Socialist, one who was into Government Planning!

====

Now, we have Madeline Albright evoking the images of Hell, if women aren't elected.

Now, we have Claire McCaskill bringing up Socialism, the same way Bill Clinton was attacked by it.

====

When the term Anti-Christ is evoked, a full circle switch to New Republicanism occurs in that campaign!

the 'Bros before H*es' shirts that were sported back then?
