In foreign policy spat, Bernie Sanders suggests Madeleine Albright supported Iraq invasion

By Linda Qiu on Sunday, February 7th, 2016 at 3:32 p.m.

...............Our ruling

Sanders said, "Tell me what Madeleine Albright’s position was on the War in Iraq. ... I wouldn’t be surprised if she supported that war."

While Albright has voiced support for the troops and said she understands the rationale behind the war, her comments suggest she would have rather avoided the invasion.

We rate Sanders’ claim Mostly False.

She understands the rationale, but would rather have avoided it. That's not much of an indication either way. Politifact has been very, very eager to confer "mostly false" ratings on Sanders statements. I'm beginning to think Politifact is mostly bogus.

500,000 CHILDREN.

Why anyone would defend this monster is beyond me ???

I would have guessed by her past comments that she supported

the war.

It would have been a fair assumption.

You have to be dishonest as an Alaskan summer's day to assert that saying "I wouldn't be surprised if she supported that war", is a claim that she supported it.

He said I wouldn't be surprised if she supported it. He did not fucking claim she supported it.

Fuck the disgusting liars. Hilly dear they give a pass to repeatedly on hold faced lies, deeming them half true.

On May 12, 1996, Madeleine Albright (then U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations) appeared on a 60 Minutes segment in which Lesley Stahl asked her "We have heard that half a million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?" and Albright replied "we think the price is worth it." Albright wrote later that Saddam Hussein, not the sanctions, was to blame.
