2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMichael Moore, a Bernie Sanders's supporter gives major props to Hillary Clinton for visiting Flint
From the NYT:
Theres a poison delivery system six feet underground, and literally nothing has been done about it, Mr. Moore said in an interview. This is clearly not a campaign stop, because the primary is 48 hours and 1,000 miles away.

From Michael Moore's twitter:
Props to Hillary for visiting Flint today. Yes, she did it to get out the black vote in S. Carolina. So what. She came. No one else has. TYH

Yes, a Sanders supporter can say nice things re: Hillary. Let's not lose our humanity. She's done good. Bernie's gonna win, so be gracious.

He gives props to Hillary Clinton for being the only Presidential candidate to visit Flint. Thank you Mr. Moore for interjecting some common sense and courtesy. We should be grateful and not lose our humanity.

On Sun Feb 7, 2016, 11:54 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
The mayor is denying water to undocumented workers.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This is an outright lie against the mayor of Flint. Rhetoric is over the top that goes beyond the boundary of just stating one's opinion.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sun Feb 7, 2016, 11:59 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: WTF shoot it down if it is a lie don't alert.
Thanks for wasting my time
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: How am I supposed to know if the post is a lie or not? The post is not uncivil, so I'm voting to leave it. If it is a lie, then the proper response is to counter argue with proof...not waste a juries time.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
Talk about a waste of time...

(39,961 posts)I find nothing funny about it, whatsoever. This is a situation that can and likely will have long-term ramifications on the children who drank this water.
Politics need to work for the people. Chiding anyone for bringing visibility to this situation is petty, no matter what political position to which you ascribe. I hope that this mess can be corrected without *FURTHER* health problems in the citizens of Flint (and other regions affected).
I think the residents of the areas contending with this particular problem would agree that it isn't a partisan issue - it's a people in trouble issue. Why try to turn it into a partisan issue?
TTUBatfan2008
(3,623 posts)Completely unnecessary cheap shot from Moore about South Carolina. I think she is doing it because she feels it is an issue that needs more attention and hopefully that will lead to more action from the government.

(39,313 posts)but he complimented her and that's good. No one else bothered, that's pretty sad.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)that he added was completely unnecessary and a shade spiteful towards her. I'm not going to interrupt someone that is doing a good thing just because I disagree with them on a hell of a lot of other issues.
Hell, every now and then a Republican does the right thing - it doesn't make me like them or agree with them 99% of the time otherwise, but I sure do not want to stop them if they are doing something positive.
It doesn't mean somebody is a Hillary Clinton supporter, it doesn't mean anybody is a Republican, either. It means correcting the problem and having common sense leaves politics on the back burner while dealing with a catastrophe.

(39,961 posts)I also gave major props for Hillary visiting Flint, because the people in that city deserve clean drinking water, health care to manage those that were severely impacted by the dangerous drinking water, and a thorough investigation not only in Flint, but in all cities where this is becoming an issue.
I am thankful that Mr. Moore is shining light on this situation, and grateful that Hillary Clinton is doing so, also.
The situation in Flint is egregious.
I applaud anybody that identifies the problem with both the water system and the political structure, voices concerns and even better, solutions and common sense thinking.
I appreciate the fact that Hillary Clinton went to Flint to raise visibility.
