his ideas are too far out of the mainstream. No Democrat (who wants to be elected) should be associating with him. His views are often un-American.

I assume you'll agree that the bombing of Cambodia and what he did to Chile were unnecessary and indefensible. And that we should never do anything remotely like those things again.

Or "Taiwan is the REAL government of China" position was no longer tenable.

Once it did, ANY Dem would have lost pretty much as badly as McGovern did.

Muskie would have. Humphrey would have. Scoop Jackson would have.

I think whoever is President should listen to as much advice as feasible...even Devils advocates. There's been too much group-think.
