2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumTo paraphrase James Carville: "It's the corruption, stupid."
More precisely the systemic and moral corruption that has infested our economy and politics, and society.
It's not how "mean" Bernie is being to Hillary.
It's about the fundamental, uncomfortable truths that Bernie is telling.
We all throw around the "99 Percent" meme.....but stop and think about it for a minute. Really visualize what it means, and try and wrap your head around the obscenity of what that represents.
That does not happen in a system that is healthy and sustainable and democratic. It happens in an Oligarchy. A Banana Republic.
And it will topple. It may be peacefully and positively toppled by a "political revolution" in which the majority stand up and demand change and reform, and a realignment of policies and politics and behavior to spread that wealth around. Or else we will sink into dystopia with consequences that would not be pretty.
Bernie is exposing that. Urging us to take the positive corrective course while there is still time.
If Team Clinton is part of that system, it is not "artful smearing." It's the truth. Look at who is priming the pump for the Clinton Campaign.

And that's why we should not be scurrying so fast to Elect the Oligarchs.

(47,803 posts)You know good and goddamn well what I'm talking about. That's an infantile deflection.
The screw ups of a few campaign workers is a fucking dustflek.
It is so much more important than the systemic massive corruption that is occurring, which threatens to undermine the good old USA. Right Dan. I'd much rather have Lloyd Blankfein running the country. Rigggggght.

(20,709 posts)The systematic violation of basic campaign ethics might is not a big deal to you, noted. I have to wonder how many times this has to happen before it would, but I suspect the answer is that it never will.
And given that you're talking about "Lloyd Blankfein running the country", you're obviously not interested in having a sensible realistic discussion about Hillary's potential presidency either, you're just here for cheap punchlines.

(47,803 posts)I'm talking about the likely collapse of America if we stay on our present course.
At least you could come up with a snappy one-liner to disagree with that, rather than trivia about what some overzealous campaign staffers or volunteers might have done.

(5,082 posts)How about racist Hillary passing around photos of Obama in a turban framing him as a Muslim extremist. The Bubble is strong with this one.

Till the .01% suck ALL the money out of the system and stash it in Switzerland?
Time for change.
Right Dan?

(28,136 posts)The trade deals endorsed by the Clintons and the DLC are a horrible reminder of the havoc greed inflicts. Just look at what happened to Flint. Fucking NAFTA.
