(527 posts)It made Gore look arrogant and it made him less likable with the undecided voters. The buffoon was much more likable even though he acted like a moron during the debates.

(11,929 posts)I've been called in as a substitute study-mate for my daughter's first college chemistry exam. She's all nervous because last semester the highest grade on the first test was a 39%. She asked me to help her with her vocab and periodic table review. She declined going to a campus watch party tonight because of the test, so if we finish early enough, we're going to hunker down in the living room and watch.

(63,912 posts)in fact, my condition is called ICU Psychosis. Here's how it was explained to me: they keep a bright light on you in the ICU and that interferes with your ability to sleep. I had 3 distinctly separate hallucinations, one of which was that I thought I was on a train coming back from Boston. I asked the nurse if this was the train to New Haven and she said "You are in Yale-New Haven Hospital..."

(63,912 posts)the possibilities of sleep deprivation on the human brain when I thought about it later on.
But what I concluded was that using sleep deprivation as a form of torture is counter productive. When I was hallucinating I couldn't possibly tell anything real...

I'll let the wife do it (with the warning that she not break the TV).
I'll be watching South Park tonite ... they're doing a sendup of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo ... Can't Miss That!

(23,156 posts)to watch it anyway. And if I were home, I could only watch it if MSNBC or someone is doing live streaming.
The problem with the "debates" is that the format is totally stupid, doesn't allow for actual follow-up, doesn't allow for real interaction between the two candidates, and many of the questions are pointless.
Several election cycles ago I went to the debate between two candidates for my Congressional district. One of the two had apparently done debate in high school and college, and had perfected being able to speak about twelve thousand words per minute. He spoke so rapidly that even with clear enunciation which he had, it was almost impossible to make sense of what he was saying. We're not used to listening that fast.

(827 posts)Might be the best move for me... I'll catch it afterwards and the reaction which is all I really care about, I already know Obama is going to wipe the floor with him, it's the instapolls and media spin that'll determine the winner..

I'm sure that President Obama will do fine but who knows what kind of nasty tricks Romney is going to pull not to mention the spin that the media desperate for a Romney "comeback" narrative will put out there?

(1,418 posts)it's going to be BORING, more or less.
both candidates will play it safe... they'll be saying exactly what they have been saying the past
(absurd) 30 months of campaigning for the job.
Rmoney has to avoid his usual gaffe-a-thon and elitist, one percent bullcrap... Obama has to avoid
sighing audibly, and giving long-winded, wonky, Gore-type baloney responses...
