What do you think will happen to Bernie's support once the powers that be convince Joe Biden to run?
I would think a Biden candidacy would have little impact on Bernie's support, as it would be seen as a desperate campaign set up by the Democratic party establishment to try and protect themselves from a democratic process not going their way. It would seem an illegitimate campaign from day one.

(14,733 posts)At this point the only way he could lose is massive election fraud. Polls are already massively in his favour, and the sort of folks least likely to be hit by traditional polling are those who line up overwhelmingly behind him.

Apologies to all. It's just that I often break into song when contemplating the political landscape.
I thought Biden might have jumped in months and months ago and when finally he did not, I figured then that he was essentially out of the race.
Were Clinton or Sanders to suddenly withdraw from the race I suppose others might be tempted to get in. Would Biden? Would O'Malley return to the fray? It could get interesting.
But that's many steps away from happening, IMO.

(697 posts)If Bernie wins super Tuesday and Joe hasn't announced, it's over. There is no way they could get anyone to come in without a general uprising.
I wonder if the PTB are contracting for a huge number of polls after New Hampshire to assess getting Joe in before March 1st.

(50,986 posts)people aren't satisfied with the slate of choices, but where were these folks a year ago, or even two years ago?
A late entry to the Democratic primary is not out of the question, but a lot of shifting of events would have to occur before it happened. I think the Republicans are the ones who may have a moment of reckoning on their hands and their convention -- at least as things are unfolding now -- looks to be contentious, nasty, and potentially brokered.
Also of note: There hasn't been a lot of chatter about Michael Bloomberg since his trial balloon a couple weeks ago.
It's pretty weird out there.
