3. The only way We The People win is when we unite and find common ground.

This could be the beginning of it. I find it fascinating that Bernie's message is resonating with this person, and so many others who are not Democrats.

"We the People have had enough."

I have rock-ribbed conservatives around me here in MS, and I have gotten more than one or two fascinated and enthusiastic about his campaign. Not all of them are overtly supporting Sen. Sanders, but they smile and agree with a lot of his positions on the issues.

Speaking plain truth and plain facts is a great way to interest Deep South Republicans. They don't like the horse shittery in both parties anymore than Deep South Democrats and Moderates, in general.

All you have to do is talk to the people around you, and explain why you are voting for Bernie Sanders. It's incredibly refreshing to be able to discuss a politician's stance on issues and not have to hedge, justify or worse, outright lie about their stated positions.

It's damned refreshing, actually.

and yes outside the major metropolitan centers we do have Red districts

But as of late, several have told me they can't take Trump seriously, they hate Hilary, and their only real choice is Bernie

4. I'll take Bernie supporters where we can get them.

I don't have to agree with everything a "supporter" believes in, I can think for myself.

Ergo, I'm voting for Bernie for my reasons and my reasons alone. I could care less what somebody else's reasons are, as long as they vote and hopefully, vote for Sen. Sanders.

Pro-traditional marriage.
Pro-Life.

I doubt he will be a Sanders supporter in the GE.

I know a person who I didn't think would like Bernie, but they do because he's honest, they say he's telling a truth that too many others are afraid to talk about.

Hardly a liberal bastion.

I've seen more Bernie stickers here than anything, though there are also plenty of Trump stickers.

I have a few relatives that are openly supportive of him, and they have probably never voted for a Democrat in their lives. More than that, no one openly opposes him even if he is a Democrat. Hillary couldn't win here if she rained $100 dollar bills from the sky on Republicans.

I cannot give you a view or an evaluation of the political climate where you live, I can just give you the one where I am. It is worth noting, though, that Trump (Cruz, too :shudder and Sanders are big around here for the same reason you are seeing the groundswell of support they enjoy nationally - there is a distinct and pronounced hostility toward the political establishment. Nobody wants another Clinton and nobody wants another Bush.

They want things shaken up in DC, and throwing out some of the old hands that sold we the people out is the goal.

I can't say I disagree with that goal.

I can tell you what they won't do - they won't vote for Hillary. As for whether or not they will vote for down-ticket Democrats, I'll remind you that our Democratic Representative lost by a very slender margin, and we remain highly competitive for the House this year, as well.

Thad Cochran won the Senate seat in the last race, but that is only because his two opponents were dirty and dirtier. His Repub challenger took pictures and made a to-do about his elderly mother who has dementia in a nursing home, which is a shitbag tactic, and his Democratic challenger tried to make hay over it.

I detest him, but at least he didn't stoop to that sort of shit.

That is the political climate I am in.

We are not your father's Oldsmobile in 2016.

Keep that in mind before you dismiss everyone down here as old fuddy-duddies that reliably pull the lever for Republicans.

P.S. - I love the pic of Halsey. She is absolutely amazing .

Second it's not dismissal of the south, it's just I'm not sure how this whole thing is going to turn out to be honest.

We can't afford a loss, I want to make sure we are doing the right thing... But even I'm not 100% sure.

if any of us were sure how this whole thing is going to turn out, we wouldn't be talking about it, debating about it, or trying to get whichever Democratic politician we favor elected!

The point is that we are working toward getting the best Democratic candidate available elected.

That is all that we can do. The rest is up to heaven only knows how many factors - we just put our best foot forward!

You think he will do anything for downticket races? You think he will really vote for Bernie if it's Kasich vs. Bernie?

I'm just not convinced.
