Bernie asks a LOT of his supporters...he never just promises "free stuff".

He asks his supporters to work for change on a continual basis...to not only do the nuts and bolts work of campaigning, but to keep organizing a long-term political movement, using whatever skills and ideas they may have, long after this election is over, and no matter who wins.

If elected, he will keep the young mobilized for the long, difficult struggle to build and maintain support for the ideas he champions, work all of them(and all of us who are not so young as well who work in this cause)know will go on for years, and possibly for the rest of our lives.

He asks us to keep their dreams alive(unlike establishment pols who ask their supporters to check their dreams at the door).

It's just that he doesn't assume that the only things young people are good for are making lattes, stacking stuff in the warehouse, and going off to kill and die in an endless series of wars.

3. Asking people to work in a long-term struggle for change is not trivial.

HRC doesn't want her supporters to be activists in any way other than getting her elected. She asks LESS of you than Bernie does.

19. Gloria Steinem going deep so you don't have to:

Feminist activist Gloria Steinem on Friday suggested that young women support Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders over rival Hillary Clinton because they want to meet boys.

On HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Maher asked Steinem why Clinton, who has campaigned on the historic nature of her candidacy, was losing the young female vote.

don’t mean to over-generalize … but men tend to get more conservative because they gain power as they age, and women get more radical because they lose power as they age,” Steinem responded.

May I say as a feminist of her generation that she is stock full of shit? Thank you. That is all.

5. Hillary asks us to accept that we will be at war forever.

She asks us to accept that we will never get healthcare even close to what citizens of contemporary nations have.

She asks us to accept that an education will put you deep in debt.

She asks us to accept lower wages.

The list goes on and it's just not acceptable.

Why is it you have so much trouble remembering what you post?

where have I ever railed against higher taxes?

I've merely pointed out that Sander's numbers don't add up.

12. You've complained about Sanders "raising taxes on the middle class" repeatedly.

Using Clinton's odd definition of middle class that ends at the 89th percentile.

14. pointing out that Sanders is going to raise taxes on the middle class

is not the same as saying he should not.

One is a fact, the other is a judgement.

15. When you complain about something, you are saying it should not be done.

Otherwise, it would be idiotic to complain. And you wouldn't write an idiotic post, would you?

that Sander's has never been honest about the costs of his platform.

Either he raises taxes on the middle class to fund his platform OR he can't fulfill all this campaign promises.

He has been emphasizing the promises but without really going into the costs. I think if people want to support his platform it's only fair to make them think about the costs as well, don't you think?

18. So....can't stay consistent even within one thread?
Sat Feb 6, 2016, 07:41 PM

So we were talking about your complaints about Sanders raising taxes on the middle class.

And now you post this:

Either he raises taxes on the middle class to fund his platform OR he can't fulfill all this campaign promises.

So...you were complaining about him raising taxes, and also complaining about him not saying he was raising taxes.

Why don't you go sit and think for a bit, and decide if you want to complain about Sanders raising taxes, or Sanders not raising taxes. Because you are currently complaining about both, and in case you can't tell, those two are utterly contradictory.
