If you've got anything else you think would sink Bernie, bust it out now.
If you don't bust it out now, we'll all know you were bluffing.

(6,409 posts)That seems to be happening. There are some posts blaming Sanders for the VA waiting list problem. I think we will see some even more far-fetched than that.

(10,565 posts)"Bernie would be cut to pieces in a general election". Bernie would have some serious vulnerabilities in the GE. Anyone that lists them on DU is automatically branded a RW, third wayer, oligarch, neoliberal, Republican, corporatist etc etc so there is no point in even bringing them up. If he becomes the nominee they will become apparent immediately. Feels like 1972

(11,785 posts)You can be sure David Brock and his ilk have been digging and there is no mud too foul for them to sling. If Bernie wins through to the nomination, there isn't going to be anything new to bash him with, like an indictment.

(53,035 posts)But the press is only just starting to vet him. More will come out as they do. I know full well that anything they discover is irrelevant to you or others here. It's been clear for sometime that issues are entirely irrelevant, as are qualifications and voting record.
And if he does happen to get the nomination, the GOP will open the floodgates, but by then it will be too late. The result could well be that the GOP wins the presidency and increases their presence in the House and Senate, which some have openly said they prefer to Clinton. It accomplishes the central goal, and that is what matters.
