We are NOT amused!!!
In other words....

(23,720 posts)She's making it pretty clear to me that the only person she gives a shit about- is herself.
MADem
(135,425 posts)I get it--you don't like her.
But you lower yourself --and no one else-- when you say things like that.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)Focusing on herself to the point of excluding everyone else- does send a message.
So? You're higher on the moral ladder than I am. La-de-dah.
But thanks for taking it personal.

(135,425 posts)It's the difference between being churlish and childish, and offering a POV as to the way a candidate comports herself.
Maybe you should try being more like "that guy?"
It would certainly make for a change.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)as long as it's not personal. If there is, please point it out to me.
MADem
(135,425 posts)By your words, though, we shall know you.
You can't be compared to Axelrod--he's comporting himself in a respectful manner while expressing an opinion about HRC's communication skills.
You're mocking and snarking--and you're proud of it, too.
There's an obvious difference.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)I didn't ask you to compare me to Axelrod, he's a talking head that's on TV. I'm not. I said he's basically saying the same thing as I said. Was he more tactful? Yes.
Life is not fair and sometimes it's even cruel. Especially on the internets and one needs to be tough to weather it. If you are unable to overcome your sense of being offended- perhaps you could just put me on ignore?
I sincerely hope you don't suffer any lasting emotional scars from my snarky comment in regards to Hillary's obsession with herself. Maybe have a cup of tea and try to sleep? Things might not seem so awful with the new day.

Her only prize will be 4 or, hopefully 8 more years of public service, no matter how ungrateful some might be for the decisions she makes for the good of all.
It would be easy enough for her to kick back and enjoy the comfortable life she so richly deserves.

I hope you took a slug of whiskey every time she said "harrrrd," and that now you feel better. The "pirate" thing you think you detect is not there, however. Pirates were often from Cornwall, and their "a" is totally different.

(23,720 posts)The other person was implying that they were morally above engaging in mean-ness. Except they did engage in mean-ness.

(90,708 posts)And I'm not being mean, either. Unless your definition of "mean" is unbelievably elastic.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)But why would you want to lower yourself to my level? The horror of what I said, is probably going to scar some people here for life. I would hate for you to be one of them.
MADem
(135,425 posts)It's never a good idea to ignore mean-spiritedness.
It's better to confront it, to point it out.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)so by all means, knock your self out.
Where? Unrec is mean maybe? I look at it as a "this is not important so should not be rec'd".
MADem
(135,425 posts)notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)Because I was mean in regards to what I said about Hillary and her narcissistic references to herself constantly. You said I was lowering myself and said I was small and petty.
It's so small, and petty.
17. Is your backhnded way of calling me shallow and petty.
I get it--you don't like her.
But you lower yourself --and no one else-- when you say things like that.
15 implies your are morally superior to me. Those are your posts are they not?
MADem
(135,425 posts)Your words are small and petty. You can absolve yourself by simply retracting them.
Instead, you choose to double down and snarl at anyone who points out that the words you are using are meanspirited.
Don't extrapolate, or read into that more than is there.
I know nothing about your "morality."
All I know is that you come on the internet and say shitty things about a Democrat running for the Presidency.
By your words "the royal WE" shall know you.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)If you think it is alertable- alert on it. If you are unhappy with how I feel about HRC, you are free to put me on ignore
I am under no obligation to suffer morality lessons from a fellow DUer who displays that they are just as mean as I.
MADem
(135,425 posts)might bother to do that.
As it is, you're simply insulting a public figure.
I'm quite sure, though, that if your same rude and petty language were directed at Sanders instead of Clinton, the boom would be lowered on you--and deservedly, too.
It's never a smooth move to resort to childish invective. It reveals more about the person flinging the insults than perhaps they intend to reveal.
This isn't a "morality lesson." It's an observation with regard to your comments. Nothing more.
And I won't put you on ignore. Just because I find your words petty and childish, doesn't mean that I need to run from them. In fact, I think it's far better to tell you, straight up, what I think of them.
If that troubles you, you have options, too, you know. You can put ME on ignore and you won't have to see my comments about your small and churlish characterizations of a Democratic Presidential candidate.
notadmblnd
(23,720 posts)I said, "For God's sake don't take a drink for every time she says me or I- you could die of alcohol poisoning before it's over"
I think it's a pretty mild slam. After all- people have said a lot worse of her. So if this is what you choose to be outraged about and get your blood pressure up over, have yourself a blast!
Hekate
(90,708 posts)...and sadly, you are actually displaying the outrage you are projecting onto others. Insight is good.

(23,720 posts)Sarcasm flies over my head. I lower myself because I made a rather mild quip about HRC that some don't like. I'm small and shallow. All of these things have been said right here in this thread to me all the while telling me that I'm offensive.
Hillary's a big girl people, for shits sake, she was Secretary of State, she can take a little rudeness.
Yeah, Hillary supporters are so morally superior to Sander's supporters. Except they're not. Don't whine about and lecture me on me how mean Sander's supporters are when the nastiness displayed here by some of HRC's supporters is just as bad.
Beacool
(30,249 posts)The Sanders' supporters have yet to find something that they approve about Hillary. The whole thing is beyond tiresome by now.
Hekate
(90,708 posts)That's why I told her I was for every one of the concerns she raised, that I was concerned she might lose track of. Gravely concerned. But mellow.

Is it symbolic? Is it yesterday's news? Is it a shiny Western trophy product of Asian sweatshop labor? Does it sleep around? Can she wear it after Labor Day? Does it believe its sins are unpardonable? Boxers or briefs? Why can animals talk in folk tales but not in real life?

(10,565 posts)think back to when you were first learning a foreign language (since grammar isn't much taught in English class in the U.S.:
French verb etre (to be) 1st person- je suis. Nous somme
2nd person Tu es. Vous etes (^ over the first "e"
3rd person- Il/elle est. Ils/Elles sont
Translates as: I am. We are
You are (singular). You are (plural)
He/she is They are
(It's surprising how long those first few verb conjugations that you learn stick with you. later stuff, not so much. )

(1,464 posts)She thinks she lost because she didn't talk about her biography, herself & how historic being elected as the 1st woman would be. Her staff has talked about it in interviews. So, now she spends a lot of time talking about herself.
If you looked at the audience at the end of her closing statement, there was very half-hearted clapping, no clapping and some people shaking their heads at her. And this was a pro-Dem audience. She has a problem.
